48th Annual Morgantown Home Show Wraps Up!
The 48th Annual Morgantown Home Show has officially come to a close—and what a successful weekend it was! The show kicked off with an exciting ribbon cutting ceremony, setting the tone for a high-energy, community-focused event that brought together industry professionals, local businesses, and homeowners from across the region. From the moment the doors opened, the venue was filled with enthusiasm, innovation, and meaningful connections. Throughout the weekend, attendees explored a wide variety of vendor booths showcasing the latest in home building, remodeling, outdoor living, financial services, and more. Vendors brought their best—creating engaging displays, offering expert advice, and building relationships that will extend well beyond the show floor. A standout feature of this year’s event was the demonstration stage, sponsored by SRS Building Products, which hosted informative and engaging sessions throughout the weekend. We were also thrilled to see strong community involvement—from families enjoying kid-friendly activities like face painting to professionals networking and forming new partnerships. The energy and support from the public played a huge role in making this year’s show such a success. This event would not have been possible without the dedication of our vendors, sponsors, media partners, volunteers, support staff, and the students from Monongalia Technical Education Center who assisted with setup. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the show—we look forward to seeing you again in 2027!

The funds went to fund litigation in Texas (energy codes), Georgia (impact fees), Florida (septic permitting), Florida (impact and mobility fees), Louisiana (construction defects), and Virginia (transportation impact fees).
We are excited to share that HBAWV has officially stepped into a new era with the launch of our mobile app, now available for both iOS (Apple) and Android devices. While there are still a few final touches and enhancements underway, the app is live and ready for you to explore. This new tool is designed to keep you better connected, informed, and engaged with everything happening across our association. As you begin using the app, please keep in mind that this is a new platform for HBAWV, and we look forward to continuing to improve it as we go. Your feedback is very much welcomed and appreciated.
Tariff Uncertainty Persists The Supreme Court has ruled that President Trump’s use of emergency powers under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) was not valid. While the Supreme Court’s ruling reins in presidential authority to impose tariffs under IEEPA, Trump still has wide latitude to set tariffs. Indeed, shortly after the Supreme Court verdict, the president announced he would impose a new, global tariff of 10%, then he raised it to 15%. NAHB urges the president to exempt building materials from his tariff strategy.
Free Videos Explain 2024 IECC As states and local jurisdictions consider updates to their energy codes, builders need to know what’s new in the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and how it may impact their work. NAHB is now offering members free educational videos on the new code, the 2024 IECC Overview Series. These videos break down the key differences between the 2024 IECC and past editions, focusing on changes that improve usability and what they mean for construction.
Please watch for an email in the coming weeks. This program will soon launch on a new platform and will be open for submissions. If you're interested in being a judge, contact Jamie Burch at info@hbawv.org. You cannot enter projects into the awards if you're judging.
