Is Tik tok raising Generation Alpha?

If you could replace your voice with any cartoon character’s, who would it be?
Even though we have seen a range of various social media platforms, Youtube has been there for most of us millennials, especially with the fact that it has been around for 20 years. But what was it that made us like it so much? YouTube was the go-to source for everything, whether it was learning how to fix your car, discovering new music, or diving into the rabbit hole of late-night comedy sketches. For Millennials and even older Gen Zs, YouTube was more than entertainment—it was school, community, and culture. But today, a new platform has taken over that central role for Generation Alpha, and it’s one that thrives on speed, trends, and algorithm-driven discovery: TikTok. Millennials grew up with evolving tech, adapting from VHS to DVDs, from MySpace to Instagram. YouTube arrived at a perfect moment, allowing creators to upload long-form videos that offered depth and context. Need to learn Photoshop? YouTube. Want to rewatch your favorite concert performance? YouTube. Even now, YouTube remains the second most visited website in the world, just behind Google according to The Social Sheppard, and is still a top search engine for Millennials looking to “learn” something visual. In contrast, Generation Alpha (those born after 2010) live in a world of instant content. They’ve grown up with tablets in their hands and voice assistants in their homes. For them, TikTok is not just a distraction; it’s a cultural feed of viral dances, short comedy skits, life hacks, and emerging artists. While YouTube caters to deep dives, TikTok satisfies short attention spans and prioritizes discovery over depth. It’s not uncommon for a 10-year-old to know the latest dance trend or recreate an audio clip before they can type a full search phrase. While the platforms may share some overlap, their influence on generational behavior is distinct. Millennials seek long-form explanations and credible walkthroughs; Gen Alpha wants a quick, entertaining answer, and maybe a dance challenge while they’re at it. The shift from YouTube to TikTok reflects more than just platform preference; it reveals how media consumption shapes our learning, socialization, and culture. Want to join the conversation? We’re talking more about TikTok’s impact on Gen Alpha inside our TikTok Group at Infinite Broadcasting. Share your thoughts, post your favorite trends, or just scroll with us. Let’s bridge the generation gap one video at a time. Want to learn more about Infinite Broadcasting? Join the Infinite Broadcasting Community today!

In this Information Age, there have been MANY amazing platforms which we have used. Facebook and Myspace are noticeably “founding” social media platforms. Follow that with platforms like Instagram and even Vine. However, none of them seem to compare to the widely known app Tik Tok. It [Tik Tok] has been going through a lot of controversy lately with its bans, but before we get to that, let’s get up to speed on the timeline of Tik Tok. Tik Tok was added to the international market in September 2017 and just a year later, ByteDance, the developing company, purchased musical.ly to add tons of features and users to the then small platform [Tik Tok]. Move forward a few years later in 2020, President Trump is the one who determined that Byte Dance should sell its US Tik Tok businesses. The overall issues were with the data collection, as they were previously fined $5.7 million by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for collecting data from minors under the age of 13, in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). President Biden in 2021 revoked the ban, but signed an executive order to investigate whether or not Tik Tok is a threat to National Security. In 2022 the FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr asked Apple and Google to remove the app from their app stores due to the sensitive user data concerns, something that the app had been dealing with. In March 2024, President Biden signed a bill to demand that ByteDance sell TikTok to a US-approved buyer by 2025 or face a total ban of the app within the US, which happened at the end of the year. So far this year, President Trump has gotten the app unbanned and as of June, extended the deadline three times. So now poses the question, what will happen next. I did a poll about this topic to see what everyone’s opinions were. Want to take the poll? Click here. Interested in being around users who are on Tik Tok? Infinite Broadcasting isn’t just a name—it’s a vision in motion. Built as a community hub for streamers, content creators, artists, and everyday creatives, the goal has always been to give people a platform where they can connect, grow, and shine without the noise of traditional social media. Whether you're looking to promote your work, find collaborators, or just be seen, Infinite Broadcasting is designed to help creators of all levels get in front of the audiences they deserve. Over the past few years, we’ve hosted unique community events like our Bowling Tournament, where online friendships became real-world laughter and friendly competition. These kinds of in-person & virtual gatherings help build more than just a following. They build relationships and networks that can last a lifetime. But Infinite Broadcasting is more than just a showcase—it’s a fully interactive platform. Users can join and create Groups centered around their interests—whether it's streaming, gaming, music, art, or even niche topics like V-tubing or podcasting. These groups function like mini-communities within the site, complete with discussion forums, shared media, and updates. You can post your content, get feedback, ask questions, or just connect with like-minded creators who get what you do. There’s also a gallery system where artists can upload their work, and musicians can share their singles to be featured in our Infinite Spotlight or added to our community playlists. We also host giveaways, provide creator tips, and encourage users to participate in upcoming contests that are all about celebrating talent—not chasing ad revenue. Looking ahead, Infinite Broadcasting is just getting started. We’re preparing to launch music and art contests to highlight even more undiscovered talent, as well as virtual meet-and-greets that will give fans and creators a new way to connect face-to-face—no matter where they are in the world. Our goal is to build a supportive, creative ecosystem where everyone has a place and a spotlight. So while we don’t have a featured streamer this month, we invite you to take a closer look at the platform itself. Because Infinite Broadcasting isn’t about one creator— it’s about all of us.
If you had to ban one word from your chat forever, what would it be?
