EASTER SUNDAY SERVICE
(Herman Bavinck) “The resurrection of Jesus Christ is an event firmly rooted in history, validated by the empty tomb, the appearances to numerous witnesses, and the subsequent growth of the Christian movement.” (N.T. Wright) “The belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ is not wishful thinking but grounded in historical evidence. It is the pivotal event that confirms Jesus’ identity as the Son of God and the hope of new creation.” (Billy Graham) “Our greatest privilege is to be witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

Presider: P. Sijin Yang Preacher: P. Jim Jung Please stand where indicated by * ANNOUNCEMENTS CALL TO WORSHIP [based on Psalm 100] "Hear the Word of the Lord!" Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. SILENT CONFESSION Let us continue to draw nearer to God by confessing, repenting and bearing of our hearts before our loving Heavenly Father. Be transparent and earnest, bringing the offering of broken and contrite heart before the Lord who knows us better than we know ourselves. He is more willing to forgive than we are to repent! (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news of the forgiveness of your sins! Isaiah 49:15, 66:13 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you...As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” PRAYER OF ADORATION (Presider) CONFESSION OF FAITH - Heidelberg Catechism (Confess Aloud Altogether the answer as a Believing Congregation) Lord’s Day 13 – SECOND PART: OF GOD THE SON 33. Why is He called God's “only begotten Son,” since we also are the children of God? Because Christ alone is the eternal, natural Son of God, but we are children of God by adoption, through grace, for His sake. 34. Why do you call Him “our Lord?” Because not with silver or gold, but with His precious blood, He has redeemed and purchased us, body and soul, from sin and from all the power of the devil, to be His own. The Bible gives us an enduring principle of tithing of our gross income as the baseline for the Christian’s worship through giving (2 Cor 9:7; Malachi 3:8-10). If every church member gave 10%, we would have enough financial resources for all the gospel ministry God is calling our church to do. Let the Spirit guide you in all final matters.
