Fourth Grade Goes to the Harvard Museum of Natural History The fourth grade recently got to take an engaging field trip to the Harvard Museum of Natural History and participate in the Changing Earth program. We learned about how rocks, fossils, and landforms provide clues about the geologic history of our changing earth. Students got a hands-on experience with fossils and various specimens (such as a live horseshoe crab) that gave clues to our changing landscape. Afterwards, we got to explore the exhibits (such as the ocean specimens and animals from around the world) at the museum. Fourth graders had a wonderful time exploring the museum and can't wait to go back!

White Caregivers Working Toward Anti-Racism Please join a virtual monthly affinity group for VLUS Triad White Caregivers Working Toward Anti-Racism. Our group meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 7:30-8:45PM on Zoom from October through May. The affinity group will read and discuss Ibram X. Kendi's How to Raise an Antiracist in order to take an active role against racism as white caregivers of our children. There will be reading to complete before each session, and families are strongly encouraged to make a commitment to attend as many sessions as possible. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 9th from 7:30-8:45PM (see additional information below). IMPORTANT NOTE: We had only two people in attendance for our first meeting in October. Going forward, if less than five people register for the meeting on Zoom by the Monday before the meeting, we will cancel. Please come help us increase our numbers and bring your friends! View recipe >> Other Wellness Resources: Creativity Calms the Mind: Did you know that engaging in creative activities, such as coloring, drawing, dancing, and singing, can help you reduce stress and anxiety? One popular trend we love is coloring complex designs, which not only get our creative juices flowing, but can actually invoke a meditative state because we easily become absorbed with the process. Check out the quick article and coloring pages in the link. Local Healthy Living Events Coming Up: Fall Family Play Groups in the Park: 3 dates left!
