It's that time of year again when everyone is setting new goals and resolutions, and the Y isn't any exception. This year, we're setting even higher goals for ourselves to make sure we're always going above and beyond our potential. Did you know that setting goals with your child is a great way to boast self-confidence, achievement, and growth? Even setting easily managed goals like making your bed each day, or eating a balanced breakfast can help kids feel a sense of accomplishment first thing in the morning and set them on a path for success for the remainder of the day! We're challenging you and ourselves to set some goals this year! Shooting for the stars is stellar, but for these goals, make sure they're manageable. Once you decide, share them with us so that we can cheer you on, and celebrate with you when you succeed! Don't worry, you got this!

This month, students explore STEAM through magnetic art, city design, and engineering a folding bridge—building creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Please encourage your children to complete their homework and/or get assistance during YMCA program time. Please remember we cannot bring trading cards. NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED DURING PROGRAM. I am okay with children bringing their own snacks, but they may not share these snacks -- especially selectively. It hurts feelings.

TOP READER THIS MONTH: Emiliano READING CHALLENGE: For every completed book with at least 100 words per page, students earn 1 point for each completed page. We are seeing students read every day in program and even take on chapter books to participate in the store. We are so proud of our readers! Why: Research shows that children who build strong reading skills often have greater opportunities and higher earnings as adults.
