June should see us moving back into our building at long last! We will be spending the summer putting finishing touches on the building as well as the back patio, or the “T-Mobile Terrace” as it will be called, thanks to the generous grant we received. Our intention is to host a grand opening party in September, and believe me, it will be a party you won’t want to miss. I look forward to having an office that is accessible to the public, especially when it will be an office that our city can be proud of. Even now, before its completion, the building is so stunning that it draws the eye and the attention of passers-by. We think it will increase the foot traffic by its very nature, and hopefully pique the curiosity of those driving through Lebanon to stop by and learn a little more about what we have to offer. I will take a moment to thank the office of Morley Thomas Law. They graciously took us in, and have been a joy to work with. We are going to miss them tremendously, especially Desiree, Molly, Melissa, and Jessie. They’ve all had to put up with the shenanigans of the Tre/Rebecca rivalry and all of the inner-office pranks that this entails. The MTL Office staff will forevermore be a part of our chamber office family now. One thing I don’t brag about enough is how incredibly awesome our Ambassadors are. They are putting together one heck of a statewide Ambassadors Conference this September, and will be heading out to other chamber’s events to make them welcome. This 3-day conference will be jam packed with educational topics as well as outings that will highlight some of Lebanon’s “Hidden Gems” as that is the theme of the weekend. There will be train and train-bike rides, courtesy of Santiam Excursion Trains, hikes sponsored by our wonderful Build Lebanon Trails group, walking tours, and craft tours, just to name a few. And finally, June is the month that for the first time we will be partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Santiam to host the first ever 44 North CU & Western University Golf Scramble at Pineway on the 28th. There’s still teams and sponsorship opportunities available. Our hope is that by combining tournaments that were one week apart, we can save your company time and money as you support both the business community of Lebanon as well as the kids. Both of our presenting sponsors were gracious in sharing the title and supporting our community. We are blessed to have them both!
