It's that time of year again when everyone is setting new goals and resolutions, and the Y isn't any exception. This year, we're setting even higher goals for ourselves to make sure we're always going above and beyond our potential. Did you know that setting goals with your child is a great way to boast self-confidence, achievement, and growth? Even setting easily managed goals like making your bed each day, or eating a balanced breakfast can help kids feel a sense of accomplishment first thing in the morning and set them on a path for success for the remainder of the day! We're challenging you and ourselves to set some goals this year! Shooting for the stars is stellar, but for these goals, make sure they're manageable. Once you decide, share them with us so that we can cheer you on, and celebrate with you when you succeed! Don't worry, you got this!

Food of the month
This month at Polk Elementary, we are excited to spotlight Paul! Paul is in his first year at the Polk YMCA Afterschool program. So far he has been a great leader and has encouraged others to bond, make friends and enjoy their time at the Y. The core value that he exemplifies the best is "responsibility". Thank you for being great, Paul!
