DELTA'S CONTINUED SUPPORT OF Y PROGRAMS
As an active member of the communities it serves, Delta Air Lines recently demonstrated its commitment by awarding The YMCA of Northern Utah $50,000. This contribution will go towards supporting our Healthy Kids Day Events and Summer Day Camp STEM programs. This year alone, more than 1,000 families actively participated in our Healthy Kids Day, where they received invaluable services such as youth dental and eye assessments, as well as early learning supplies. They were also connected to essential community resources to ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of their families. Our Summer Day Camp offers hands-on STEM programs, including coding, ozobots, and robotics, to over 600 children ranging from rising kindergartners to rising 8th graders. None of these achievements would have been possible without the steadfast support of our community partners We sincerely thank Delta Air Lines for their generous, ongoing support of our mission to provide our communities with experiences that enhance healthy mind, body, and spirit while building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Delta’s corporate giving program strongly emphasizes supporting education. Their commitment to our organization has been instrumental in creating opportunities for youth personal growth, development, and success. We are thrilled to collaborate with Delta in fostering social connectedness and strengthening our community. Delta’s contributions enable us to enhance our program’s impact and empower youth to confidently pursue their educational and career aspirations. The YMCA of Northern Utah values the partnership we have built with Delta Air Lines, and we are honored to work together in our shared mission of making a positive impact in the lives of youth, families, and our communities. The YMCA's vision, mission, and values come alive not by who we serve, but by how we serve them. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and creating a brighter future together.
This year is YMCA Camp Roger's 75th Anniversary, and we're looking for alumni who worked at or attended! Since 1948 Camp Roger has hosted countless children, teens, and adults. Over the years, the camp has transformed from a small camp focused on boys' leadership to a much larger operation. This summer, nearly 1700 campers of all kinds will wind their way to the Mirror Lake Highway to camp where they'll take part in horseback riding, archery, arts n' crafts, hiking, character development and so much more. They'll be guided by 51 staff, with 27 of them traveling internationally to work at camp! Please scan the QR Code to tell us if you or someone you know went to camp! You can share a memory and/or a picture as we reminisce on the past and look ahead to what's next!
Dear friend, Coming out of a period of disruption, testing our agility, and getting our feet under us to move full steam ahead, 2023 has been a year to understand our value proposition and what we can build from now. Though the past few years have been highly disruptive, they also helped us identify areas we needed to adapt, break up our norms, and rebuild. So far, 2023 has proven to be the year we become stronger and more effective. With our vision to be the leader in developing and adapting high-quality programs and experiences for all and our core programs directly serving youth, our board and staff has made our strategic focus "Elevating Youth." We plan to continue this focus over the next few years by launching a capital campaign to invest, grow, and expand our presence in Northern Utah. We are excited to engage amazing donors and supporters of the YMCA like yourself to be part of our Elevating Youth Campaign. After experiencing a record-breaking winter, we are witnessing an unprecedented surge in campers participating in our day and overnight camp programs, surpassing even pre-COVID figures. We continue building an incredible leadership team embracing agility, leading us out of this disruptive period, and setting our foundation for a new growth period elevating youth! Your engagement with our Y is critical to our success and the engine for our growth and transformed lives. We are thankful for you and your commitment to our work! With Gratitude, Richard West, CEO

When work meets your passion, explosive progress happens. That's especially true for Ogden Regional Medical Center's CEO, Mark Adams. Each day, he works tirelessly to ensure critical medical services are available to the Ogden community, to promote nurturing patient care, and to understand (from those on the front lines) how he can be a better advocate in his role. While many of you may work with or know Mark and the care he puts into his career, did you know he is also involved with the YMCA? Mark Adams has served on the YMCA of Northern Utah's Board of Directors since 2017. Throughout his tenure, Mark has played a critical role in supporting the Y by helping to create YMCA covid protocols, opening the door for the YMCA and Ogden Regional Medical Center to partner in how we care for our families with medical conditions, and serving as a crucial advocate in conversations with Ogden City to expand YMCA programs. His selfless gifts of time, money, and resources are invaluable to our work. While Mark's current work has been with the YMCA of Northern Utah, he was no stranger to the YMCA world when he connected with us. In 1995, Mark was serving as the CEO of a local hospital in Idaho when board members approached him from the Treasure Valley YMCA to build a YMCA in their small town of Caldwell, Idaho. He agreed to get involved and found himself at the center of a $20 M project where he served as the Campaign Chair. "I was excited to bring that community resources it didn't have. To see kids interacting with seniors and a diverse community coming together was so impactful." Years later, Mark returned to Utah to join Ogden Regional Medical Center. As a community partner, he attended a YMCA breakfast and sat next to a board member, Jim Everett. After hearing the work that the YMCA of Northern Utah was doing, it reignited a passion in him. By the end of the breakfast, he was on the fast track to joining the board here. "The YMCA is an indispensable service in the community. The future success of our community depends on the youth in it today. By investing in the young people who will stick around today, we're really investing in what our future looks like," says Mark as he describes why youth services are essential in Ogden. Currently, the YMCA hosts six preschool classes, 10 afterschool programs, and three teen programs in Ogden. While the YMCA here doesn't have a traditional gym and swim presence, Mark says, "The value of the Y is still there. We are there to give hope and engage with the fabric of our community. As we grow stronger, our presence will grow. We won't rest on our laurels when it comes to serving kids, teens, and families in the Ogden community." Mark's commitment to seeing the work of the YMCA thrive is contagious. Today, he's helping to facilitate stronger partnerships in Ogden and is an incredible champion for the Y movement in his community.

He attributes his summer camp and ski club experiences as a kid to giving him exposure to the amazing opportunities and relationships that have enriched his life up to this point.
