We are busy making plans for next year, and we hope to give you a few things to think about how you will partner with us next year. Our most immediate plan is for our Distinguished Service Awards Banquet, which will be February 23rd at Boulder Falls. We are currently taking nominations, which you can find on our web site or in our current location at 80 E Maple St. New this year - we are planning an after-party sponsored by 1847, with a hotel package as low as $99 which will include a night's stay and two tickets to the after party. These will be limited, so when you see it, book it! We're also making some exciting enhancements to the 2024 Linn-Co Biz Expo. We'll release details as we get a little closer, but one detail to note for now is that we're going to move it to the third Thursday of April, which will be April 18th. Get that on your calendar now - this will be an Expo you do not want to miss. Among the things we look forward to the most in 2024 is moving back into our own building. The folks at Morley Thomas Law Office have been very gracious to put up with us since June, but frankly Tre Kennedy is a little bit mean to me (and I'm such a nice lady!). All kidding aside, our plans for the building restoration are moving along, and we're getting to the final phase of the engineering process. The damage was extensive, with removal of two exterior walls, and modifications to virtually every interior wall. The good news is we think we will end up with something we can all be proud of. That building was built in 1950 and served as Lebanon's DMV until the 1980's when it was repurposed as the Chamber of Commerce. Through the years it was remodeled but it never lost that 1950s old government feel. We think we'll end up with a Chamber and Visitor's Center that Lebanon will be proud of. And lastly, one of the new agenda items next year will be Lebanon hosting the Oregon Chamber Ambassador's Conference. Lebanon last hosted this event in 2018. This is a conference that was largely a social event, but our Ambassadors kicked it up a notch and set the bar high for subsequent years, adding educational and excursion experiences. We will be looking for volunteers, partners, giveaways, and general support as we get ready to showcase Lebanon to chamber folks from across the state. Having sat in on a session or two with our people getting their ducks in a row already, I can tell you that this one will make all of Lebanon look like rock stars. The exact date will be forthcoming sometime around February. Stay safe and happy Thanksgiving to all!
