A heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTA and parent volunteers for organizing last month’s events and supporting our school in so many ways. Your time and energy make such a difference in creating a vibrant and nurturing community for our students. PTA provided cupcakes for our Stewart Birthday in January, hosted our Bingo Night and is working behind the scenes on our Playground Pavilion. We are blessed! Our next PTA Meeting is February 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Stewart Library.
A Note From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians, Happy February! It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the school year. This month is packed with exciting events, opportunities for connection, and important milestones as we continue working together to support our students’ growth and success. As always, my door is open if you have any questions, concerns or ideas. Thank you for your partnership in making our school a place where every child can thrive. Warm regards, Deanna Carpenter, Principal

You Do Make a Difference
Stewart students, staff and families have been collecting socks on our annual "Sock Tree" in December since 2016. This year we collected 339 socks which made a total of 4,582 socks for the nine years! Many people in Salina have warmer feet as these socks were donated right here in our own town to Salina Shares. Thank you Stewart School for your generosity and for making a difference!

Did you know that understanding the Visible Learning strategies being used in your child’s classroom can make a big difference in their growth as active, curious learners? At Stewart, we’re focusing on key learning dispositions like collaborate, reflect, embrace challenge, and wonder to help students thrive. You can play a big role in this! Try starting a conversation with your child about their learning. Here are a few ideas to get you started: What have you done today that you’re proud of? How did you approach something challenging today? What new learning are you excited about? You can also ask, “Why are you learning this?” or “How will you know when you’ve learned it?” These small chats support your child’s learning and strengthen your bond. Together, we can help them grow!
Visible Learning at SPS
On January 16, we celebrated Stewart's 65th Birthday! Each year we get together as a school and celebrate the day that Stewart opened. Students enjoyed yellow and green cupcakes. Thank you PTA for the cupcakes! Mrs. Eitel (teaching at Stewart for 28 years), Miss Painter (teaching at Stewart for 18 years) and Mrs. Holloway (teaching at Stewart for 18 years) played "Who Knows Stewart Best" and we learned much about our history.
