Think about what you really want to accomplish in life – it might be expanding your business to include loved ones, earning enough to pay off your mortgage, or retiring at age 65 with a solid nest egg. Where would you like to be in five, 10, 15 years and beyond? Set yourself up for success by establishing a yearly income goal. Get Out There Both virtual and face-to-face meetings are effective ways to convert a prospect into a client. Be sure your plan includes opportunities to make that happen. Planning for your business’ success shouldn’t be just a once-a-year activity – it’s something to do on a monthly, weekly and even daily basis. Creating a marketing plan and sticking to it puts you in control of your career and helps you stay focused on your goals. Review the activities covered here and develop a schedule for your marketing and communications to ensure you are reaching out to your sphere consistently and often. Every week, set action goals based on your plan. Spend 15-20 minutes at the beginning of each week reviewing your progress from the past week and setting your goals for the upcoming week. Spend the first five minutes of every day reviewing your weekly plan to identify the day’s activities. Then take a minute at the end of each week to score your progress. What percentage of your weekly goals did you achieve? If you fall short one week, use that as a catalyst for stronger performance the next. There is an awesome tool for tracking your efforts in CBU called "REScoreboard". You will be able to set your goals and track your success and then be able to use those metrics to build on as you grow your business. Have questions? The key to a successful marketing plan is to write it down, be specific and refer to it often. Once you have a draft of your plan ready – including your daily, weekly and monthly marketing activities as well as your production goals – sit down with your broker to review it. Talk through it together to determine any weak spots or missing elements; then schedule time to get together once a month or quarter to review your progress. Success will happen because you had a vision for it and came up with a strategy to achieve it. By taking charge of your marketing plan, you’ll have a clear path to reaching your goals in 2023 and beyond.
