Author Visits 4th and 5th Graders On November 10th, award-winning author Tae Keller came to visit the 4th and 5th graders. She talked about her life and how she became an author. Students loved hearing stories about how she wanted to be a noodle when she grew up and about her troublemaker sister Sunny. Every student received a signed copy of her newest book from the Porter Square Books Foundation - thank you Porter Square Books! Next time you are in the building, look for Tae's signature on our literature mural in the stairwell!
To all Haggerty Families, We want to remind Haggerty families that all Haggerty students have access to many online resources to use at home. Many of these online resources include excellent review and practice of learning being taught at school. Your child can always log in to these resources using their Classlink launchpad/Google accounts. For Reading: All Students in K-5 can always use RazKids online reading program. Students can access Razkids on laptops/chromebooks. RazKids includes read aloud books and independent reading practice with comprehension questions. For Math: All students in K-5 can always use ST MATH to practice and review math skills. For Reading AND Math There is a new online program available for students in grades 3-5 called iReady. This program creates “learning paths” for reading and math for each student. In addition, teachers can assign lessons for review and practice. We are assessing needs for Chromebooks in Grades 3-5. You may have already heard from Lissa about this. Over the next few weeks, families who requested Chromebooks should see them coming home. More information on that will be coming.
