YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK If you own property in the Canandaigua City School District, you will see an increase in the levy for Wood Library on your October tax bill. The levy increase was approved by School District voters on May 19, 2026. Community-based funding provides a stable source of revenue for the library's essential services and programs. It allows the library to continue offering reliable service seven days a week, meet the increasing demand for digital content and technology, offer innovative programming, and provide fresh materials year after year. It represents 80% of the library's 2027 operating budget. Fundraising, income from the endowment, grants, and some service fees make up the difference.
A thriving library doesn’t happen by accident. Tax dollars provide an important foundation, but donations from people like you help make Wood Library a strong, accessible resource for everyone. As the year draws to a close, please consider making a gift to Wood Library. Your donation will help keep our collections fresh, support programs that enrich our community, and help the library respond to the needs and interests of the people it serves.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Tax Law Changes Make Giving Easier for Everyone! Effective this year, individual taxpayers can deduct charitable contributions up to $1,000 (or $2,000 for couples filing jointly) even if you don't itemize. That means that your gift to Wood Library in 2026 could lower your taxable income AND support the library services that people count on every day. Visit bit.ly/wddonate to make a gift!
Annual Fund Drive:Why your gift matters. A thriving community library gives everyone a place to learn, explore, connect, and feel welcome. And a responsive library makes a community a better place to live.
