Childcare Program Benefits From Community Partnerships During winter break, we had 42 school-age kiddos participate in Winter Break Camp. We hosted reindeer games, pajama day, a field trip to the bowling alley, swimming and our annual pancake and sausage breakfast. Our 16 preschoolers had fun with Wii Sports, classroom bowling, scooter games, science experiments and their own pancake breakfast. Each group was also able to spend some much needed time outdoors while the weather was mild. -Rebecca Patton, Director of WFYMCA Childcare

The Waynesboro Family YMCA is overjoyed and deeply grateful to The Hershey Company of Stuarts Draft for their generous support of our childcare program. Through this meaningful partnership, Hershey’s $40,000 contribution will help expand accessibility for families by funding The Hershey Company Childcare Scholarships. This investment will directly benefit local families by making high-quality childcare more affordable and accessible to those who need it most. Rebecca Patton, Childcare Director shares, “Each year, the Waynesboro Family YMCA serves approximately 150 children through our preschool program, after-school school-age care, and summer camp. These programs provide children with a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive.” “Our mission is to strengthen our community by supporting families and children,” said Executive Director Anne Hudlow. “We are incredibly thankful to The Hershey Company for recognizing the importance of accessible childcare and for standing beside us in this work. Their generosity ensures that more children can experience the care, support, and opportunities they deserve.” The partnership reflects a shared commitment to community well-being. By supporting YMCA childcare scholarships, Hershey is helping remove financial barriers for families who depend on these essential programs while working, Mike Sever, Plant Manager for The Hershey Company of Stuarts Draft, offers,“Hershey is proud to support the Waynesboro Family YMCA in expanding access to quality childcare. Strong families build strong communities, and we’re honored to help create brighter futures for children and parents in this region.” At the Waynesboro Family YMCA, we care deeply about our community and the families we serve. We are proud to stand with Hershey Chocolate Company, an organization that shares our values and demonstrates its dedication to making a positive impact where it matters most. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier future for our children and our community!
A SWEET PARTNERSHIP!

Youth Basketball League in Full Swing at the Y! The energy is high and the courts are buzzing as the youth basketball league season is officially in full swing at the Waynesboro Family YMCA! Each week, young athletes lace up their sneakers, ready to learn, grow, and have fun through the game of basketball. Our league is about more than just competition. It’s a place where kids build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and learn the importance of sportsmanship, both on and off the court. From first-time players mastering the basics to seasoned athletes sharpening their skills, every child has the opportunity to grow in a positive and encouraging environment. We are thankful for our league sponsors who help make this program possible. A special thank you to Patrick Belvins, State Farm, and Franklin Woodson, Franklin’s Catering and Custodial for their generous support. This commitment to our youth allows us to provide a high-quality experience that keeps kids active, engaged, and connected. Under the leadership of Chris Lancaster, Sports Director, along with vital staff, the league continues to thrive and provide meaningful opportunities for youth to learn and grow through sports. We are also deeply grateful to our volunteer coaches, timekeepers/scorekeepers, and referees who generously give their time and energy each week. This truly is a community effort, and we couldn’t make it happen without their dedication and support. At the Y, we believe in strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Our basketball league brings those values to life each week, creating lasting memories for players and families alike. We look forward to an exciting season ahead and invite the community to come out, cheer on our teams, and celebrate our young athletes!
