Summer Camp FAQs
How does drop-off and pick-up work?
Pick-up and drop-off will take place at the location of the camp. Parents should walk their child to the registration table on the first day of camp to check in with the camp counselor and ask any questions. After that, campers may just be dropped off and the parent may leave once the camper gets to their camp location (inside or outside). At pick-up, parents may just pull into the parking lot and wait for their camper. Camps will wait outside with the camp counselor during pick-up.
Will snack & lunch be provided?
Where will the camps take place?
Do I have to be a BRCS student to register?
No! We love to have students from other schools join us for the summer! We can’t wait to meet you!
Camps will take place at both of our campuses throughout the summer (Bridgewater and Dayton). We will be in touch closer to time with the specific location of your child's camp. There are some camps that will go off -site (Cross country, for example). In these instances, school-approved transportation will be used.
Follow this link: https://form.jotform.com/BRCS/2023-brcs-camp-registration If you have trouble with the link, please contact the Lower School office at 540-828-2233 and ask for Julia or Marsha.
How do I register?
What if a camp gets canceled after I pay, or if I have to cancel my registration?
Age requirements can be found in the registration form or in the individual summer camp descriptions. We have camps for ages ranging from rising kindergarten through rising 8th grade.
We provide full refunds to any campers that have to cancel their registration with us IF the cancellation is made within 2 weeks of the start date of the camp. If BRCS cancels a camp that you have already paid for, you will receive a full refund. Obviously, we are human and we understand life happens. In the instance of extenuating circumstances, please contact us and we will do our best to work with you.
Are there limits and waitlists for your camps?
Yes, we offer before care and after care for an additional fee. Before care will be available from 8am-9am for $20 per camp week. After care will be available from 4pm-5:30pm for $25 per camp week. If you need both before and after care, it will be a discounted rate of $40 per week. If you know in advance, please indicate on your camper's registration form if you will need before and after care. If you don't know your schedule needs yet, we can work with you closer to time to add before/after care.
Do you offer extended care?
What are the age requirements?
Yes, there are limits on some of our camps. These can be found in the summer camp descriptions. The registration form will automatically track how many spots are left in camps that have a max, so if you try to register and can't (or if the camp is showing as unavailable), then it's full. If the camp you are trying to register for is full, you can contact Julia Define at jdefine@brcschool.org to be placed on a waitlist. You will be contacted if a spot opens up at a later date.
What’s the summer camp dress code?
Can I leave medication for my camper at school?
What if my camper has a camp at the Upper School in the morning and then a camp at the Lower School in the afternoon, or vice versa?
Yes. Emergency/necessary daily medications can be turned into the office and kept at school during camp hours. You will be required to fill out all necessary forms ahead of time and secure a doctor's signature, so please contact the Lower School office promptly at 540-828-2233 if you need to send medication to school.
You will receive a camper guide via the email you provided on your registration form closer to the summer that has detailed instructions about what to bring and any special instructions.
What does my camper need to bring?
We will provide school-approved transportation to their next camp during the lunch hour! Please drop off at whichever campus the first camp is being held, and pick up at whichever campus the second camp is being held.
All campers must be appropriately and modestly dressed for camps or while on campus in any setting. Modestly dressed indicates: Shirts are worn at all times. Tank-tops are not allowed. Leggings can only be worn under a skirt or with a long shirt that covers the backside. All shorts must be at least 3-4 inches below the inseam. All skirts must be no higher than 2 inches above the knee and must be worn with biker shorts or leggings underneath.
A link will be sent out to a Google album of summer camp photos that you can access after the conclusion of the camp. Photos will also be posted on social media throughout the summer. If you do not wish for photos to be posted of your camper, please indicate on the registration form.
