Action Magazine's Gabriel Silva Shares What’s New in His World
Action Magazine 2025
It all started with Take Action Apparel & Gear. With first-hand knowledge that bullying has become a serious epidemic in schools across the nation, Gabriel L. Silva wanted to help give kids like him a voice! "I was a victim of repeated bullying. I am small for my age and kids would make fun of me for my size. Eventually, the verbal turned physical. I know that not everyone is going to like me, and I am actually okay with that. But disliking and mistreating someone physically, verbally, or emotionally for basically being different and not taking the opportunity to get to know them for who they are, is not okay. I had an opportunity to travel to LA for pilot season, when I came home, I found out that three of my friends had had an even harder time than I did at school. I knew what they were feeling, but I was helpless to help them. I wanted to do something. So, we got together with a group of experts and some really cool designers to create Take Action Apparel & Gear." Fast forward through time, and as a result of Take Action Apparel & Gear, Action Magazine was born, giving a worldwide platform for both adults and kids in the industry, who are passionate about taking a stance against bullying, a place to share their stories. Effects on children that either are the bully or that are being bullied go well beyond the school day and sometimes last a lifetime. Students who are bullied sometimes resort to suicide and the bullies often find themselves incarcerated by the time that they are adults. "Action Magazine is a great way to showcase amazing talent within the industry, while at the same time, giving them an opportunity to let kids know that they are not alone and help them to feel empowered. I found my voice through acting/modeling and practicing Tae Kwon Do, I stopped focusing on the negative and was able to discover the positive in me. If we help just one by sharing our stories, then Action Magazine is doing what we have created it to do."

What are five things that you can't live without? My family, my dog, my friends, and of course modeling. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? You can conquer the world if you put your mind, heart, and soul into it. What's your favorite color? My favorite color is lavender. What is your favorite movie? The Little Mermaid (live action) because it brought happiness to a lot of people. What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is SHE-RA and the Princesses of Power. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have two dogs (Pitbull and a Labradoberdoodle). What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? New York City. What is your favorite food? I love food and I have an international palate. I don’t have a favorite per say. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? “Salish Matter” because of her personality and she’s funny. You are a multi-hyphenate entertainer: actress, model, fashion creator, lifestyle/beauty influencer…let’s start off with acting. How did you get started as an actress? Two years ago, I saw my uncle on Netflix doing a voiceover for the series Secrets of Summer, and I thought, “Wow, that’s so cool—I want to do that!” That moment really sparked something in me. My uncle has been a huge inspiration for my acting journey. Soon after, I booked my very first role on PBS KIDS Talk About, and from there, my love for acting began to grow. Two months later, I booked my first feature film, My Soulmate The Movie. I had a great time on set. The industry is full of rejection. What is your advice on how to handle it? Be thankful for every opportunity. Each opportunity is already a win. I have been told with acting to do my very best in the audition and forget about it, don’t keep wondering if I booked it or not. Just move to the next project. Even though you did not book the role, it does not mean you were not good enough. There are many reasons beyond you, so just don’t give up. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? I would choose to play an antagonist who later becomes the good guy but was never bad in the first place. But was really misunderstood. Now, let’s talk modeling. How did you get started modeling? I’ve always been inspired by Tyra Banks. I used to watch her all the time and imagine myself on the runway. That dream stuck with me, and in February 2024, I walked my very first show at New York Fashion Week. That moment changed everything. Since then, I’ve walked for 10 designers and now walk every season in both NYFW and LAFW. It’s been a fast and exciting journey, and I’m just getting started. As a model, what has been your favorite brand to work with so far and why? Frocksnfreckles because she created the perfect dress for me based on my personality and my very own style. As a fashion creator and lifestyle/beauty influencer, what are some of your self-care routines to bring the complete look all together? Self-care is a huge part of how I show up confidently in fashion and beauty. To bring the complete look together, I really focus on routines that make me feel good from the inside out. I start with skincare—hydration, gentle cleansing, and masking with pure aloe vera to help heal my skin. I love a glowy, dewy base, so keeping my skin healthy is important. Hair care is also essential. Whether I’m wearing curls, braids, or a slick bun, I protect my hair at night with silk wraps and always deep condition. I also take time for mental resets—prayer, tea, and music. And finally—style-wise—I plan outfits around how I want to feel and look. Fragrance is the last thing I put on before I walk out the door. Keeping “life” and “influencer/creator life” separated is difficult. How do you do it? It can be a challenge but I learn to set boundaries. I don’t record everything. There are moments left just for enjoyment with friends and family. being with my friends and family reminds who I am outside of content. I love creating, but I never want to lose myself in the process, so unplugging is fine. In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Outside of content creation, I’m really passionate about creative expression and caring for the things (and beings!) that bring me joy. I spend a lot of time with my dogs—they ground me and remind me to be present. I also love crochet, sewing, and designing clothes. It’s something I do to unwind and express myself outside of the camera. Creating something from scratch—whether it’s a top, a bag, or even a mood board—feels like self-love in action. Lately, I’ve been getting deeper into script writing too. Telling stories that reflect real, raw experiences—especially from a young girl perspective. While I don’t have a charity yet, I plan to create a platform to help young girls who suffer from mental issues. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Zendaya, without a doubt because she makes clear that one can be soft and strong; fashionable and focused all at once. How would you describe your fashion style? My style is a mix of bold, feminine, and creative. I love to play with color and texture, and sometimes it’s streetwear with an edge, and other times it’s soft glam with vintage vibes, I like outfits that tell a story. One day I might be giving ‘90s runway, and the next I’m in a cozy oversized sweater. I think fashion should reflect your mood, your power, and your personality—so I dress like the main character, every single time. Who are some of your favorite people in the entertainment industry that you have worked with? I've been really blessed to work with some incredibly talented and inspiring people who really made me feel seen and brought out the best in me creatively. I also love collaborating with fellow models, actors, or creatives behind the scenes—because we understand each other and hype each other up. And I have to say, every time I get to work alongside people who are passionate and professional, it makes the whole experience that much better. What advice would you give other kids that want to follow in your footsteps? I would tell them to believe in themselves, even when things feel slow or uncertain. Stay focused, stay kind, and always be true to who you are. It’s easy to compare yourself to others, especially on social media, but your journey is yours—and yours alone. Also, put in the work. Be prepared, stay humble, and treat every opportunity like it matters, because it does. And most importantly, surround yourself with people who support and uplift you. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I have a stuffed animal named “Charlie”. What can we expect to see from you in the future? You can expect to see me growing—both personally and professionally. I’m working on more acting projects, building my modeling portfolio, and continuing to use my platform to inspire other young people. I'm also hoping to work with more brands that align with who I am. If you could talk to your past self, what would you tell her? I would tell her to choose your friend wisely. Is there anything else that you would like to share with our audience? I just want to say thank you to everyone who’s supported me on this journey. It means the world to me. To anyone out there trying to make their dreams come true—whether you’re in entertainment, school, or just figuring things out—keep pushing!

What are five things that you can't live without? My family, my friends, meaningful conversations, creative expression, and a sense of purpose. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Show up. Do the work. Be kind. Keep growing. That consistency and attitude will carry you through anything. What's your favorite color? Black. It’s classic, versatile, and timeless like a good film. It can represent power, mystery, or simplicity, depending on the context. In both fashion and storytelling, I’ve always appreciated how something so seemingly basic can carry so much depth. What is your favorite movie? Back to the Future sparked my love for film, and meeting the cast at Comic Con LA last year was a dream come true. Pulp Fiction was the first film I remember bonding over with my parents as a teenager. It introduced me to the world of independent cinema and inspired me to pursue a professional career in the industry. What is your favorite TV show? Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. They’re endlessly rewatchable, quotable, and still just as sharp today as they were when they first aired. The humor is smart, unapologetic, and totally one-of-a-kind. Do you have any pets? Not currently, but I grew up surrounded by pets and animals and have always had a strong connection to them. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? London and Paris are at the top of the list. Both cities are rich in art, history, and creative energy. The last time I was in France for the Cannes Film Festival, I went skiing in the French Alps. That combination of cinema and adventure was unforgettable. What is your favorite food? Sushi and Pho. I love the balance they offer. Both are go-to meals depending on the mood. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be and why? Quentin Tarantino. I met him briefly when I was a kid, but I’d love to sit down now and talk films with him. His passion, perspective, and cinematic knowledge are on another level. You are an actor, producer, and podcast host. Let’s start with acting. What made you want to become an actor? I grew up around creative people in music, television, & film. It was always part of my life. But what really drew me in was the ability to tell stories that make people feel something. I knew I wanted to be part of that experience. What has been the most difficult thing about being an actor? The inconsistency. You put everything into your craft, and sometimes you don’t get the part, or the project falls through. Learning to detach from the outcome and stay focused on the work has been the biggest challenge and the greatest lesson. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? A layered, flawed character on a redemptive journey. Someone who’s been through darkness and finds light in an unexpected way. I love exploring the duality of human nature. Next, let’s talk production. What made you want to go behind the camera and become a producer? I wanted to be part of the creative process from the beginning. Producing gives me the opportunity to champion stories I believe in and help other voices be heard especially in indie film where there’s so much untapped talent. What criteria do you use to choose a project to produce? What has been your favorite project to produce thus far? I look for a strong script, a unique voice, and something that resonates with truth. Producing and acting in Jack and Cocaine was a highlight for me. It had grit, heart, and a message that stayed with audiences. Last but not least…podcasting! Tell us how you got started? During the pandemic, I missed that sense of connection. I started On Air with Ka$h as a way to engage in real conversations with creatives, and it quickly grew into something bigger. It’s become a platform for authenticity and inspiration. What has been one of your favorite moments on On Air With Ka$h? Interviewing Beverly D’Angelo. Her honesty, humor, and insight into the industry were unforgettable. That episode really connected with people. In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Since 2018, I’ve hosted the Kash Hovey & Friends film block at Film Fest LA at LA Live. It’s been an amazing opportunity to showcase emerging filmmakers and build a community. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Tom Cruise. His dedication, range, and the risks he takes to entertain make him a standout. Julianne Moore. Every role she plays is unforgettable. She brings depth, emotion, and intelligence to the screen, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and May December are just a few examples. How would you describe your fashion style? Simple, stylish, a bit old-fashioned, a bit rock 'n roll. Whatever my mood tells me. Who are some of your favorite people in the entertainment industry that you have worked with? Working with Shannen Doherty on Undateable John was an incredible experience. She’s iconic, driven, and collaborative. I’ve also had the privilege of interviewing people like Whitney Cummings, Beverly D’Angelo, and Cary Elwes, and hosting at the Burbank Film Festival where I interviewed Tim Burton. Moments I’ll never forget. What advice would you give other kids that want to follow in your footsteps? Stay motivated. Life will bring challenges, but those moments are really just tests to prepare you for the next step. Every opportunity that doesn’t work out and every failure you face will build character if you move through it, learn from it, and stay persistent. Focus on the craft, stay true to yourself, and surround yourself with people who lift you up. The journey is just as important as the destination. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? If you're curious, ask me. I don’t typically share everything, but I’m an open book when it comes to communication and connecting on a real level. What can we expect to see from you in the future? I’m developing a new feature film, expanding On Air with Ka$h into a live event format, and continuing to support independent filmmakers. You’ll see more storytelling on screen and off. If you could talk to your past self, what would you tell him? Don’t rush. Trust your path. Every experience—even the setbacks—is part of your story. Keep showing up, stay true, and enjoy the ride. Is there anything else that you would like to share with our audience? Thank you for following the journey. Whether it’s through film, podcasting, or a chance encounter at a festival, I hope something in my work resonates with you. I’m excited for what’s next and grateful to be doing what I love.

What are five things that you can't live without? My Bible—because it’s where I get my compass. My voice—because it’s the vessel for my truth. My hope—because even in silence, it keeps me moving. The idea of a legacy that changes everything—because I wasn’t put here just to pass time. And freedom—not just for myself, but for others who haven’t found theirs yet. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? The only thing promised in this life is death. Everything else—every moment, every opportunity—is a gift, not a guarantee. So while I’m here, I work like it’s all on me, because dreaming is free, but legacy costs everything. What's your favorite color? Brown—especially warm, autumn browns. It’s the color of my mother’s eyes. What is your favorite movie? That’s tough—I’m torn between three that hit different parts of me. Now You See Me for the illusion and control, the power of performance. Magazine Dreams because it’s raw, obsessive, and painfully human—like chasing perfection at the cost of everything. Whiplash for the brutal honesty about greatness and what it demands. And I have to mention Creed—for the fight, the legacy, and the silence between punches where you find who you really are. What is your favorite TV show? Without a doubt, Snowfall. It didn’t just entertain me—it changed the way I see acting. There was something about the rawness, the emotional precision, the silence between the lines… it cracked something open in me. It pulled me out of my shell and made me realize what truth on screen really looks like. Since then, I’ve never approached a role the same way. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? Not anymore—but when I was a kid, I had a dog named Mickey. He was this beautiful white dog—don’t even remember the breed. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? It might sound cliché, but Los Angeles. I moved there the moment I turned 18—not for a vacation, but for a vision. There’s something about the energy in that city… not just the lights or the dream-chasing, but the collision of cultures, struggles, and stories happening all at once. It forced me to grow. To see people. To see myself. LA didn’t just feel like a place—it felt like momentum. What is your favorite food? Easy—Chicken Alfredo. No context needed. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Without question—Denzel Washington. I’ve said it a hundred times. He was a constant in the movies I grew up watching, and my dad was a huge fan, so there's a generational thread there. But beyond the legacy and the roles, it’s who he is that draws me in. I want to understand what it really feels like to stand at the top of this industry—and still be grounded, still hold your integrity, still move with faith. That kind of presence doesn’t just happen. I’d ask him how he protected it. What made you want to start acting? Honestly, I don’t fully know. But I remember this moment—waking up one morning, the night after I ran away from my group home. There was this feeling in my chest, something I couldn’t shake. It wasn’t loud or clear, just persistent… like a quiet fire burning deep inside. Acting wasn’t a plan or a dream then—it was a calling I couldn’t ignore, even when everything else felt uncertain. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? It’s discovering your true self—and learning to leave the ego behind. Sometimes being natural feels almost impossible. The last time I truly remember my emotions being free was as a kid—maybe at my eighth birthday party. Everything was genuine then: the smiles, the laughter, the unfiltered joy. But as we grow, the world starts to shape us—telling us how to look, how to act, what to be. Breaking free from all that conditioning is its own journey, one that forces you to dig deeper than you ever thought possible. How do you prepare for auditions? It’s a process that feels almost like a ritual. I usually start by putting on a deep, emotional soundtrack—something that connects me to the tone of the story. One of my go-tos is “Hand Covers Bruise” from The Social Network. Then, I sit alone in a dark room, reading the script over and over until I can hear the character’s voice inside my head. After that, I clear my mind completely, almost like dropping all my own thoughts, and stare into blank space to make room for the character’s mindset. I read the lines again until they feel so natural that I can almost forget them. From there, it’s usually a day or two of research and deep focus, trying to truly embody that person. Then I film the audition and send it out. It’s intense, but it’s how I find truth in performance. The industry is full of rejection. What is your advice on how to handle it? It only takes one—the one yes that changes everything. So when that opportunity comes, you take it with everything you’ve got. Yes, you’re going to hear countless no’s along the way. But those no’s aren’t the end—they’re a signal to keep pushing, keep growing, keep showing up. Rejection is just part of the process. The key is to never lose sight of your purpose and keep that momentum rolling, no matter what. You have had many wonderful roles. What has been the one role that you relate to the most? I’d say my role in A Quiet Place. Not because it reflects my personal story exactly—I don’t think I’ve had a role that truly mirrors me yet—but because it embodied a part of me deeply. I’m someone who values silence and listening. In a world that’s often loud and chaotic, staying quiet and truly hearing what’s around you—that’s where I find myself. That role captured that essence, and for me, that connection meant everything. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? I want a role that digs deep into the culture and humanity where I come from—something rooted in truth, raw and real. Not just entertainment, but a story so emotionally powerful it lingers with people long after the credits roll. Like Magazine Dreams, Snowfall, Black Panther, or Miles Morales—those roles don’t just tell stories, they challenge, inspire, and push people to their edge. That’s the kind of work I want to do: roles that move hearts and change minds. Can you share one of the most impactful “ah-ha” moments that you’ve had thus far in your career. It’s funny—when I was in foster care, a caseworker once told me that if I kept “fighting” the system and chasing my dream of acting, I’d never be anybody and would end up homeless at 18. So when I booked my first role, it wasn’t about proving him wrong. It was just this quiet, powerful moment of validation—a reminder that my path was real, and my voice mattered. That moment taught me that belief in yourself can move mountains, even when the world doubts you. In addition to acting, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Truth and freedom. I want to show the world love, compassion, and the kind of freedom that comes from feeling truly seen and heard. Growing up in foster care, I know what it’s like to feel invisible—or worse, like your feelings don’t matter. I want foster children to know they can feel anything is possible, just like I did when I finally found my voice. I want the average businessman to look beyond stereotypes and see the homeless person as a human being—with a story, a struggle, and worth. Despite a heartbreaking childhood, I was raised on love—and it’s that love I want to reflect back into the world. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? I have a few, but lately it’s been Damson Idris. There’s something about how effortlessly he commands every scene—how he stormed into the industry with full confidence and authenticity. I don’t always know exactly why, but watching him work inspires me. That’s the kind of presence and fearlessness I want to bring to my own journey. How would you describe your fashion style? Honestly, it’s a bit confusing—in the best way. Some days I want to channel that sharp, powerful vibe like a mafia member or Antonio Montana from Scarface. Other days, I’m all about statement pieces that reflect where I come from, showing my roots through what I wear. Who are some of your favorite people in the entertainment industry that you have worked with? Lupita Nyong’o stands out. She’s not only an incredible talent but also one of the most beautifully humble people I’ve ever met. Her grace and authenticity on and off set are truly inspiring. What advice would you give other kids that want to follow in your footsteps? Don’t listen to those who try to box you in. Rebellion can be your greatest ally—as long as it’s not reckless, but purposeful. Don’t let anyone else decide your future just because their path was limited. Your dreams are yours alone, and sometimes breaking away from the expected is the only way to make them real. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I actually care very little about money or fame. Sometimes I feel out of place at events or on red carpets because that world isn’t what I’m used to. For me, it’s always been about the work, the story, and staying true to myself—not the spotlight. What can we expect to see from you in the future? An Oscar—nothing less. If you could talk to your past self, what would you tell him? Don’t carry the weight of blame—it’s not yours to bear. Your story was written in the stars long before you knew it, and every step, even the hardest ones, are leading you exactly where you’re meant to be. Is there anything else that you would you like to share with our audience? Without the audience, Zay “Domo” Artist doesn’t exist. Without you, my goal of winning an Oscar for Best Actor isn’t possible. So I vow to give everything I’ve got to every performance you see from me—because your belief is what fuels this journey.

What are five things that you can't live without? My dog, Daisie, lip liner, platform tennis shoes, my portable karaoke microphone (you never know when you’ll need it), chocolate. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? You don’t have to feel ready to start—just start. What's your favorite color? Pastel colors - all the Easter colors that I love and all shades of pink - I drive a pink convertible bug. What is your favorite movie? Growing up, it was Sister Act 2, Coyote Ugly, Uptown Girls, Legally Blonde - still my favorite. What is your favorite TV show? Sex and the City and Friends. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? Yes! I have a Pomeranian named Daisie - she is just like me and not laid back at all…unfortunately. But, she loves fashion, just like me too. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Egypt - the pyramids - I cannot believe that I’ve hardly been anywhere, but I’ve been there, and yes I manifested it my entire life until it actually happened. What is your favorite food? My granny’s chicken and dumplings (my family is from Kentucky). I’m from Tennessee, so I love southern food. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Britney Spears. She’s been such a huge part of my journey musically and personally—I know we would be best friends. What made you want to start singing? I was three-years-old and already obsessed with pop stars. But, I was super shy—and singing was the one thing that made me happy. What is the most difficult thing about being a musician? The business side of it all. As an indie artist, we literally do everything that I wish I could have a label do. I want to just focus on the art - I am a creative at heart, that’s all that I love to do. Where do you find inspiration for your music? Heartbreak, healing, empathy - sometimes, I draw from what my friends are going through too. What do you hope people take away from your music? I hope people feel seen and just inspired. I hope my music helps get them through a hard time and becomes a mantra or a feeling where they can feel happy again. I want my songs to remind you that heartbreak isn’t the end of your story—it’s the start of your glow up. If you could experiment with a genre that you haven’t yet mastered, what would it be and why? Honestly…disco-pop. Like Dua-meets-Donna-Summer. I love anything sparkly with a beat that you can dance to. You have a new project, “Glow Up,” tell us about this project? “Glow Up” is a breakup anthem, but more than that—it’s a rebirth. It came from one of those nights where you finally get out of bed, put on makeup, and remember who you are. It’s about turning pain into power. In one word, how would you describe your sound? Empowering. In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I’m super passionate about mental health and sobriety. I’m 3 years sober, and I want to help other people know it’s never too late to choose yourself. I also support organizations that help animals—especially rescues (Shout out to my dog, Daisie). Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Brittany Murphy - her fun quirky spirit will always be remembered. How would you describe your fashion style? Girly glam? Who are some of your favorite people in the entertainment industry that you have worked with? @nightlanemusic brought “Glow Up” to life musically, and @brookeonthemoon co-wrote it with me. Working with people who just get the vision is everything. What advice would you give other kids that want to follow in your footsteps? Don’t wait until you feel “ready”—start now. Confidence comes after you take action, not before. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I secretly wish that I was in Miami everyday…I am always cold in Los Angeles (I know this seems weird). What can we expect to see from you in the future? More music, more sparkle, and maybe more reminders to choose yourself over some guy who tries to ruin your life - don’t let him. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? Don’t forget how far you’ve come. Is there anything else that you would you like to share with our audience? Just that if you’re in your healing era, you’re not alone—and listen to my new song “Glow Up!”

What are five things that you can't live without? The five things I can't live without would probably be: my phone, pizza, tacos, my dog, and especially my laptop as I need it for schoolwork, video games, and all the streaming services. Life would fall apart really fast without my laptop lol. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Dreams only become reality when you make it happen. What's your favorite color? My favorite color is green. What is your favorite movie? Any free time I have is usually dedicated to watching movies and TV shows. Because of that, I watch way too many movies to really have a favorite, and my top ten list is constantly changing depending on the year and the films I watch and re-watch. But, as of now, I think I managed to narrow down the list to a top three that haven't changed in years, which means that my favorite movie would probably be a three way tie between Underworld, Hunger Games, and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. What is your favorite TV show? Again, I fall into the same trap as I do with movies, because I watch way too much TV to have a favorite. Though, right now it would probably be Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though that may change in another few years. As I write this interview, I am currently re-watching the show for the second time. My two favorite types of shows to watch are sitcoms and dramas, so I like how the show manages to perfectly blend the two elements together. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have a Chocolate Toy Poodle named Charlie. I got him for my tenth birthday and he basically grew up with me as a surrogate little sibling. He doesn't listen to me at all and prefers my mom and grandma over me. Because of that, he usually goes out of his way to try and mess with me by barking excessively or sneaking into my room to steal things. But, I would probably be a lot more bored if Charlie didn't mess with me, so he keeps life very interesting. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? My favoite place that I have traveled to is probably Mexico City. I loved every minute that I was there. The food, culture, architecture, everything was fun to see and I definitely want to go back one day. What is your favorite food? My favorite food would be a tie between tacos and pizza. I think I like them both because of how versatile they can be. You could put virtually anything on them and it counts as a meal, so I like being able to change my order depending on my mood that day. Plus, both foods are delicious. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? The person I would want to have dinner with is probably Tim Burton. He is my favorite director and I feel like I could probably learn a lot from him even from just one conversation. You are a multi-talented entertainer. Let’s start with acting. Tell us how you got started acting? My mom put me in acting classes when I was eight-years-old, and it all got started from there. I eventually started to really love it, and by age ten, I booked my first role. That was when I knew that acting was something I would be doing for the rest of my life. I couldn't really imagine doing anything else. You are also an writer. Tell us how you got started writing. I started writing not for entertainment, but actually for a grade. In senior year, I had to write short stories for my high school literature class, and I found out I was actually pretty good at it. So, I decided to transfer those skills over to the projects I started to make, since around the same time is when I started directing and made my first short film, Gemini. What is the most challenging aspect of being a writer and why? I think for me, the most challenging aspect of being a writer is having to actually sit down and write. I can have a thousand ideas in my mind, but the second I sit down and try to write, all the ideas vanish entirely and I am left staring at a blank page. Writer's block is a real thing and it is my mortal enemy. However, it is part of the creative process, and as a writer, I have learned to not let it get to me as much. Even if it means I have to walk away and do something else for a bit before coming back and trying again later. Eventually something is bound to get on that blank page. Listening to music also tends to help my creative process, so whenever I am writing I usually blast Evanescence or Paramore, my two favorite bands, at full volume until I think of something. You are also a director. Tell us how you got started directing and what types of projects do you like to take on? As I said in another question, I got started with directing at the same time I did with writing. However, the drive to start directing projects actually came from my first acting role in Live By Night. Watching Ben Affleck direct the movie made me want to try my own hand at directing, and many years later, I was finally able to do so. I love horror and psychological thrillers, so the three projects I have made so far, Gemini, The Not So Scary Movie, and Malfunction incorporate a lot of those elements into it. Gemini in particular is inspired by episodes of The Twilight Zone, The Not So Scary Movie is a comedic parody of classic slasher films like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street, and lastly, Malfunction is inspired by the classic 'robot turns evil and attacks humanity' trope. What is the most challenging aspect of being a director and why? Directing requires immense multi-tasking skills. On any set, no matter how big or small, there are a lot of moving parts you have to keep track of. As the director, everyone is coming to you asking a million questions and you have to be on top of everything. It is a fun job and I would not trade it for anything, but that is probably the most challenging part of the gig. The key is to not let everything overwhelm you, keep calm, and take everything one step at a time. Tell us more about your latest short, Malfunction. Malfunction is probably my favorite of the three shorts I have done so far. I wanted to stick with the same psychological and horror themes that I used in my first two short films, but I also wanted to include more sci-fi elements due to my love of franchises like Star Wars and Terminator. I had a lot of fun writing the story specifically, and spent a lot of time trying to figure out how much detail I wanted to include in the short run time. I like keeping things vague and leaving questions unanswered, so because of that, I think there is a lot more to the story of Malfunction than what was portrayed in the short film. I may just have to make a sequel one day. Lastly, you are a podcaster. Tell us all about Just Talk With Gabe. What has been you favorite show so far? Just Talk With Gabe was a product of the pandemic. During 2020, I was bored out of my mind, so I decided to start a podcast where I interview other people in the entertainment industry. Seven seasons in, it's still a lot of fun. I would say every interview has been awesome in their own ways, but one of the highlights would have to be our season four finale, where I interviewed the band Rivals. I have always loved rock music, and Rivals is one of my favorite bands, so it was a very fun experience getting to talk to them. In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Action Magazine began with a mission to stand against bullying, something I experienced personally. Knowing you're not alone can make a world of difference. While the magazine has grown to spotlight entertainers and their talents, it’s also become a platform to remind readers that behind the fame, these individuals are human too. We’re all sharing space on this big rock and that true connection matters. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? My two favorite actors are probably Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. They are really entertaining actors to watch and I love every movie I see them in. I would love to work with both of them one day. How would you describe your fashion style? Clearance section at Old Navy (children's section specifically, perks of being 5'3). Who are some of your favorite people in the entertainment industry that you have worked with? Some of my favorite people that I have worked with are Ben Affleck, Anthony Ramos, O'Shea Jackson Jr., and Elizabeth Ludlow. They are all very talented and nice people, and I would love to work with each of them again in the future, What advice would you give other kids that want to follow in your footsteps? You are going to hear a lot of the word 'no'. This is a very competitive industry and nothing happens overnight. But, you can't let that discourage you. You have to keep trying, keep honing your craft, and eventually, with a lot of hard work and a little luck, you may just achieve what you were looking for. It will not be easy, but things that are worthwhile rarely are easy. Just be sure to work hard and have fun while doing it, and the rest will come naturally. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I think one thing that a lot of people don't really know about me is that I love mythology. As a kid, I would spend hours reading stories from ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt, and Scandinavia. It was these stories that inspired my love of fantasy, and I would definitely love to incorporate mythological elements into my stories one day. What can we expect to see from you in the future? Good question, I'll let you guys know when I figure it out. All jokes aside, you guys can expect more episodes of Just Talk With Gabe coming your way soon. Every season so far has been a blast, and I don't intend to be stopping anytime soon. Apart from that, I want to make more short films. So, you guys can expect a few more shorts being made in the near future. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell him? First, I would ask him if the price of gas has gone down yet? Then, I would probably ask him a lot of questions about the future such as if we have flying cars or live on the moon. After all those types of questions, I would get a bit more serious and remind him of all the ideas I have for films so he can start making them if he hasn't by then. Is there anything else that you would you like to share with our audience? Make sure to tune-in to season seven of Just Talk With Gabe and also watch Malfunction. Let me know what you think, I am always eager to hear feedback, no matter what!

Jazzy Fauchere
For those who don’t know me, I’m Jazzy Fauchere! I grew up in Toronto my whole life and moved to LA almost 4 years ago now, to continue my career in the entertainment industry. I started acting from a very young age, a couple of years in I realized that I wanted to not only pursue acting, but also pursue music. Once I got into music, my career just took off from there, I was surrounding myself with the right people/mentors that really wanted nothing for the best for me and helped guide me to success. From a young age, I was experienced opportunities that almost no kid gets to experience at that age, I’ve been extremely focused on being successful ever since I can remember. Once I got into high school, I realized that this is something I want to be extremely serious about, as I can see the potential of how far I’ve come. So when I moved to LA, everything just skyrocketed from there, and now I work in all Departments of the entertainment industry. It's been a surreal experience and all I can say is how thankful I am! Action Magazine caught up with this truly talented individual to get her take on our traditional game of Q&A. Stay tuned, and make sure that you are following her on Instagram because we have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot more of her in the entertainment industry!
What are five things that you can't live without? 1. My headphones/the recording studio 2. My phone 3. My pets 4. Summers at my lake house 5. Music What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Have patience! When one door closes it's for a reason, whatever it is down the road it is way more powerful than that closed door ever was. What's your favorite color? Definitely pink and red! What is your favorite movie? Good Burger. I could watch it 100 times and never get sick of it. What is your favorite TV show? As of right now, my favorite show would have to probably be Love Island. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have two Golden Retrievers, one named Stormi and the other one is Lilo! I also have a cat named Gizmo! What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? I went to Bangkok, Thailand last year and it was the most surreal experience. My favorite part of the trip was when we spent the day with elephants, they’re also one of my favorite animals, so it was amazing to interact with them! What is your favorite food? Sushi 100% If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? You are a multi-hyphenate entertainer. You are a dancer, singer, and actress. Let’s start with dance. How did you get started dancing? My parents signed my sister and I up for dance when we were 3 years old, as the years went on we realized it was our passion, and we wanted to take it seriously to someday incorporate it into our everyday job! What is your favorite genre of dance and why? My favorite genre of dance is tap, I started when I was just a toddler and I fell in love with it ever since! Next, let’s talk music! How did you get started singing? How would you describe your sound? When I was a kid my sister was always obsessed with Hannah Montana which made me grow to become obsessed with Hannah Montana as well. I think she was a good role model for me as a kid because her character was so motivated and wanted the separation between having a normal life, and devoting time to a career that's her passion. I think I resemble a Hannah Montana in a way when it comes to her dedication and her passion for music. Ever since I was a kid I knew I wanted to do this as it has been a huge dream of mine not only to do music as a hobby but to also pursue it as a career in that industry. I would definitely say my sound is leaning more towards Pop/R&B! You have recorded three albums. What is the one thing that you hope people take away from your music? Everything I write is about a personal experience of mine. You might have gone through the same situation as me, or not. Either way, when people hear my music, I want them to relate to the song with their own story, regardless if you have gone through it or not. This is EXTREMELY important to me, as my priority is to ensure a true, authentic connection between me and the listener. Now, let’s talk acting. How did you get started acting? When I was 6-years-old walking in Toronto with my family, this lady approached us with a flyer to audition for her agency and one thing lead to another. My sister and I signed a contract, I booked my first commercial for the Olympics within the first week, and it just skyrocketed from there! You have had a few impactful role. What is the one project that you’ve worked on that has stood out the most? Why? A project that I’ve worked on that stands out to me most would be The Best You Can due to it’s strong message. The Best You Can is about Stan, a lonely security guard, and Cynthia, a doctor caring for her sick husband. They meet one night by chance and start texting each other. As they talk more, they open up about their struggles—his with family and loneliness, hers with caregiving and stress. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Melissa McCarthy’s comedy is just on another level—she’s totally fearless and knows how to make anything funny. She’s so good at being over-the-top but still somehow super relatable. How would you describe your fashion style? Style mixes clean, neutral-toned outfits with occasional bold pieces like leather jackets or statement pieces, balancing casual streetwear What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I love to surf, as well as lake surfing behind my boat! What can we expect to see from you in the future? There's definitely going to be a lot coming out this year music wise, I've been constantly in the studio, so I'm going to be releasing a lot of new music soon. Out of all my music, my upcoming songs that I'm going to be releasing are ones that I hold very close to me because I am showing vulnerability through my writing and sharing things with the world that I've experienced through music. Some of those songs that I'm going to be releasing will have very talented artists collaborating with me on the songs, so definitely stay tuned for that! I don't want to spoil too much, but I will be appearing on some shows and films this year that I'm very excited for, and I can't wait to talk about it once I can give more details. If you could talk to your past self, what would you tell her? I’d tell her to stop overthinking everything, especially the little stuff that doesn’t even matter in the long run. It’s such a waste of time and energy, just relax and trust that what plays out is for a reason. Is there anything else that you would you like to share with our audience? Go stream my newest song POLAROID (feat. Allie Mcintosh) on all streaming platforms!

What made you want to start acting? I really don’t remember why I started acting. I was very young. I just know that I have loved the whole process along the way from the time I could remember. It is fun getting to be other people. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? The most difficult thing about being an actor is having to vastly portray different types of emotions in such a short amount of time. How do you prepare for auditions? I prepare for my audition first by looking over the scripts, then researching and studying the subject, then memorizing the lines and then putting it on tape. The industry is full of rejection. What is your advice on how to handle it? My best advice for dealing with the rejection in the industry is this…One role doesn’t make or break you. Just keep plugging away at it and when things are right it will hit. You have had many wonderful roles. What has been the one role that you relate to the most? Out of all the roles I have played, I really feel that I have connected with them all but the one that really stands out to me is Billy The Kid: Blood and Legend. I really loved diving into the history of Billy the Kid and putting my own twist on the character. I feel that Billy and I have a lot in common. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? If I could write the perfect role for myself it would have to be the Dexter type character. I feel that there is a lot to learn from a physiological role. What has been the one piece of advice that you have gotten in your career thus far that has been a game changer? The one piece of advice I have received is that rejection doesn’t define who you are and when one door closes another one opens. In all I have done, I am very passionate about charitable work. Especially underprivileged children. I want kids to have the best just as I did growing up. I am also passionate about the charity American Cancer Society because my grandfather passed away from cancer. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? My favorite actors are Leonardo DiCaprio and Andrew Garfield. They both come to their emotions so beautifully in the films they have done. I love to watch and study their style of acting. How would you describe your fashion style? I would best describe my fashion style as mostly casual with a twist of trendy. When I am not wearing my flannels, hoodies and jeans, I do like to put on a dress shirt and dress jacket. Who are some of your favorite people in the entertainment industry that you have worked with? Some of my favorite people that I have worked with in the industry has been several. Michael Feifer (who has directed several movies I have been in and also produced), Costas Mandylor (he is an actor who was in Billy the Kid: Blood and Legend with me). There are many crew members that have become family. What advice would you give other kids that want to follow in your footsteps? The advice I would give to other kids that want to become an actor or singer would be, just to keep trying, you never know what they are actually looking for. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? The one thing that no one knows about me is that I am also attending college to become an engineer. What can we expect to see from you in the future? I sure hope a lot more movies and songs to be released. I truly enjoy entertaining. If you could talk to your past self, what would you tell him? I would tell my past self while yes it has made some good songs but stay focused on acting and producing more than relationships. Is there anything else that you would you like to share with our audience? Just that Billy the Kid: Blood and Legend is going to be epic. Please watch it when you see it is out. There also is going to be a surprise in the movie so keep an eye out for it and let me know when you see it.

More About The Accountant 2: The Accountant 2 is a 2025 American action thriller film directed by Gavin O'Connor and written by Bill Dubuque. It iss the sequel to The Accountant (2016). Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and J. K. Simmons reprise their roles from the previous film, with Daniella Pineda joining the cast. (Per Wikipedia.org)
So, what do we think: The Accountant 2 is a humorous and action-packed sequel that builds on the fun and depth of the original film. Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal reunite to deliver a nice balance between stoic precision and a hilarious buddy-cop dynamic. The plot is well-written and full of suspenseful twists that will be sure to keep you guessing until the very end. The film gets a 10/10 from us, and we highly recommend it and the original film to our fellow fans of action movies.

The TikTok Effect: How the App Is Turning Bedroom Artists into Billboard Stars
One Viral Hook to Rule Them All It used to take radio airplay, magazine covers, and maybe a prime-time TV slot to make a music star. Today? Just a minimum of 15 seconds and an algorithm. TikTok isn’t just changing the game, it’s rewriting the rules in real time. The app that once seemed like a Gen Z dance playground has now become the single most powerful music discovery platform on the planet. It’s minting new stars, resurrecting old hits, and making record labels scramble to keep up. This is the TikTok Effect and it’s wild, unpredictable, and absolutely reshaping what it means to "make it" in music. From the Bedroom to the Billboard Let’s talk numbers. TikTok has over 1 billion users worldwide. That’s 1 billion potential DJs with thumbs and opinions and if they like your track, things can go very fast. Need proof? Look at Lil Nas X. “Old Town Road” didn’t break out because of a radio campaign or a major label push. It blew up on TikTok first, where a cowboy meme set to his then-unknown song went stratospheric. Fast forward, the song breaks Billboard records, wins Grammys, and turns Nas X into a genre-smashing icon. Since then, TikTok’s track record (no pun intended) has only grown. Doja Cat, Ice Spice, GAYLE, PinkPantheress, Benson Boone—these aren’t just artists; they’re TikTok graduates. Democratizing the Spotlight Here’s where it gets exciting, TikTok levels the playing field. You don’t need a label, a manager, or even a full studio setup. You just need one great song or one great moment in a song and a little algorithmic luck. That’s why you're seeing a flood of artists who, five years ago, might’ve been buried in SoundCloud, now topping global charts and playing Coachella. And TikTok doesn’t care if your song dropped yesterday or in 1985. Just ask Fleetwood Mac. “Dreams” found new life in 2020 thanks to a chill dude on a skateboard sipping cranberry juice and suddenly, a whole new generation was vibing to Stevie Nicks. It’s like musical archaeology, but done by teens with ring lights. Songs Built for the Scroll TikTok isn’t just influencing what’s popular. It’s influencing how music is made. Songwriters and producers are now crafting hooks with TikTok in mind. Intros are shorter. Choruses hit harder. Lyrics are engineered to be meme-able, loopable, or danceable. Some songs practically scream, “Please go viral!” Even major artists are getting in on it. Taylor Swift teased snippets of “Bejeweled” with a sparkly dance challenge. Olivia Rodrigo’s team launched "vampire" with a flood of behind-the-scenes content crafted for maximum scroll appeal. It's marketing, but it’s dressed up in spontaneity and bedroom lighting. The new formula? Make a moment. Hope the algorithm agrees. The Pressure Cooker of Virality But it’s not all smooth sailing on the FYP. Going viral is a double-edged sword. TikTok can catapult you to stardom, yes, but it can also burn you out. Artists who blow up overnight are expected to drop new music yesterday. The platform’s short attention span means today’s obsession can be tomorrow’s scroll-past. Many artists talk about feeling stuck in a cycle of chasing the next hit. Labels, now hyper-focused on metrics and moment-making, sometimes sign acts off one trending sound, only to ghost them when the views cool down. It’s the music version of going viral for a funny tweet: thrilling, but fleeting unless you can turn it into something real. The Labels Are Watching (And Plotting) Make no mistake: the traditional music industry is watching TikTok like a hawk. A&R reps now comb the platform daily, tracking what songs are blowing up, which creators are using them, and how fast the streams are rising. Entire careers are being inked in DM chats and Google Docs based on a single viral moment. Some artists, like Steve Lacy, have seen success go beyond the app converting TikTok fame into sold-out tours and critical acclaim. Others get stuck in the “TikTok artist” box, struggling to prove they’re more than a catchy chorus. It’s a weird time. The lines between “hype” and “longevity” have never been blurrier. Fans Aren’t Just Watching, They’re Shaping the Music What makes TikTok different from every music platform that came before? The fans aren’t passive. They’re remixing songs, creating alternate versions, mashing up old hits with new vocals, and turning throwaway demos into chart contenders. Artists are even letting fans dictate what they release next, based on how their snippets perform. It’s a two-way street now and that intimacy builds loyalty. When fans feel like they helped make you famous, they stick around. So, What’s Next? If TikTok’s shown us anything, it’s that music stardom doesn’t look like it used to. There’s no roadmap. No guaranteed route. Just a phone, a beat, and a moment. Is it chaotic? Absolutely. Is it sustainable? That’s still up for debate. But it’s undeniably powerful. The next big pop icon probably isn’t at a record label showcase. They’re sitting in their bedroom right now, staring at their screen, wondering if they should post that new track. And if they do? You just might hear it all summer long. Bottom line: Music is changing and it’s happening a minimum of 15 seconds at a time.

If you thought vinyl was something your parents stashed in the attic, think again. Gen Z is flipping the script, one record at a time. That scratchy, analog format your dad used to clean with a T-shirt is suddenly very cool again. But this isn’t just a wave of ironic nostalgia or retro cosplay. Vinyl is having a legit cultural moment, and it’s Gen Z leading the charge. In an era where music is just a tap away, you'd think spinning a 12-inch disc would feel wildly outdated. But that's exactly the point. The Anti-Algorithm Rebellion For Gen Z, digital natives raised on Spotify playlists and YouTube autoplay, vinyl offers something rare: intention. You can’t just skip around. You drop the needle, sit back, and listen. “It forces you to pay attention,” says 22-year-old record collector Maya from Chicago. “It’s like the opposite of doomscrolling.” That analog ritual, flipping the record, reading the liner notes, watching the needle slide across the groove, feels like an antidote to algorithm fatigue. It’s music without push notifications. Just vibes. Owning the Moment Let’s be real, vinyl also looks good. Whether it's displayed in a crate, mounted on a wall, or spinning on a pastel turntable from Urban Outfitters, records are Instagram gold. But it’s more than aesthetics. Physical media gives Gen Z something streaming can’t: ownership. With digital music, you never really have it. It’s rented, licensed, and always at risk of disappearing from your library. Vinyl is different. It’s tangible, collectible, and personal. Pop Stars Are in on It Too This isn’t happening in a vacuum. Artists are leaning into vinyl. Taylor Swift’s Midnights sold over 1 million vinyl copies alone, making it the top-selling vinyl album of the decade so far. Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, and Billie Eilish have all released deluxe vinyl editions with alternate covers, splatter-press designs, and bonus tracks. Vinyl isn’t just a format. It’s a flex. A merch drop. A fandom must-have. Collector Stats: Gen Z Is Spinning the Numbers 43 percent of vinyl buyers in the U.S. in 2023 were aged 18 to 34, according to Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music). Vinyl sales in the U.S. hit 49.6 million units in 2023, the highest since 1991. Gen Z collectors say they now spend an average of $100 to $300 a month on records, based on self-reported data from Vinyl Me, Please and Discogs surveys. The hashtag #vinylcollection has over 1.5 billion views on TikTok, and growing. Limited edition pressings and colored vinyl remain the fastest sellers, with preorders for Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo vinyl editions selling out in hours. The numbers don’t lie. Gen Z isn’t just dabbling in vinyl, they’re driving the boom. Community Over Convenience TikTok has helped fuel the trend, with #vinylcommunity racking up millions of views. Creators show off new pressings, unbox rare finds, and rank album sides like it’s the Oscars. Record shopping has become an experience, and for many Gen Z listeners, it’s less about the music and more about the ritual. That sense of community, sharing finds, digging through crates at indie stores, debating pressings, feels more meaningful than yet another curated playlist. The Future? It’s Spinning So is vinyl just a trendy flashback or a sign of a deeper cultural shift? Maybe both. But one thing is clear, the format that once seemed destined for extinction is now a symbol of rebellion, mindfulness, and music made real. Gen Z didn’t grow up with records. That’s what makes their obsession with vinyl so fascinating. They’re not chasing nostalgia. They’re creating new memories with an old format. And if you’re still streaming? That’s cool. But don’t be surprised if your next party has a turntable and a guest asking which pressing you’re spinning.

What are five things that you can't live without? God Love Family Friends Music What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Be kind and treat all people with love and respect. Trust in God that everything will work out according to his plan. Never give up. What's your favorite color? Dark reds What is your favorite movie? The Notebook What is your favorite TV show? The Vampire Diaries Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have a cat named Luna. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Italy What is your favorite food? Pasta If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Ariana Grande because she is my inspiration. She followed the path that I want to take with acting and music. I would ask her a lot of questions about how to navigate the two worlds and questions about vocal technique. You are an actress. Tell us how did you get started acting? I started my journey into acting when I started pageants at the age of 3. This trained me to perform, to learn public speaking, to be prepared and polished. I was signed by my first agency when I was 8. What is your favorite genre to portray and why? If I had to choose, I would choose dramatic roles. I really like to get into character and have fun with bringing the role to life. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, in a genre that you have never tried before, what would it be and why? I would love to do a RomCom because I love watching them so much. It would be fun to act in one. You are also a musician. What inspired you to become a musician? I have always loved music and performing. Since I was 3 I have been performing on stage and have wanted to make it my career. Where do you find inspiration for your music? Walk us through your creative process when starting a new project? I find inspiration everywhere. Something will happen in my life that will make me feel a certain way and it will inspire me to put something down on paper. Also by listening to a song that I like and wanting to make something similar. I also just have fun making beats with my producer. How would you describe your music? I would describe my music as positive. I want to connect to people through my music and make content that makes me happy but also is relatable to my listeners. What do you hope new listeners take away from your songs? I hope that they will leave the experience feeling good and want to listen more. What is the one “lesson learned” moment that you have had as both a musician and actress? The one lesson learned is to take your time when deciding to work with someone. There are a lot of people in this industry that over sell and under deliver. It takes money to make things happen so make sure you can track the investment and how that money is helping your career specifically. Only work with people who actually believe in you and will tell you hard truths. NO yes people, EVER! In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I am passionate about my personal time with loved ones, family and friends. I need time to reflect and recharge so I can be my best self for my work and my fans. I work with several charity organizations. My longest relationship is with Operation Underground Railroad (Our Rescue). It is an organization dedication to ending sex trafficking and forced labor across the globe. I have been a part of the organization since I was 11-years-old. You may have see the movie The Sound of Freedom, based on this organization. This cause is extremely important to me. I also am a part of Thirst Project and Wells of Life. Both of these organizations are dedicated to bringing clean water to people that need it anywhere in the world. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Rachel McAdams because she connects with her characters and makes them her own. She can do drama and comedy amazingly well and at the same time. How would you describe your fashion style? I don’t have a set style. I love to try and experiment with everything that I think looks good. I can be very girly but also very tomboyish. I love a lot of different styles. Who are some of your favorite people in the entertainment industry that you have worked with? I have worked with amazing people as a voice actor but on camera I am still building my What advice would you give other kids that want to follow in your footsteps? The advice I would give aspiring actors and artists is first to understand what it looks like to be in this industry. It is hard work and sacrifice. A lot of times it can be frustrating and heartbreaking. So, with that said, unless it is your passion, the thing you really want to do, don’t do it. If, however, it IS your passion… then NEVER GIVE UP. Keep going and trust yourself. Don’t listen to the haters, keep your life private and focus on you. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I have 5 siblings and I am the youngest. What can we expect to see from you in the future? I am focused on continuing my training in acting and music. I spend a lot of time preparing for future roles and performances I have up coming. You can expect to see me performing in larger venues and hopefully larger roles in the coming year. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? Good Job! We made it! Is there anything else that you would you like to share with our audience? Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. We are just getting started and I can’t wait to take you along with me. Love you! Bullying is one of the worst forms of abuse there is. It is a horrible thing that nobody should have to go through. I have been bullied and treated differently most of my life because of my choice to follow my dreams and be in this industry. It can make a person really question themselves. It can kill the soul. All people deserve love and respect. They deserve the benefit of the doubt. A person never really knows whats going on with someone, even a bully, but no one should ever be a doormat or made to feel less than… EVER.
Part 2: Grow Your Audience – Turning Social Media Engagement into Career Opportunities By Lisa Malcolm CEO/ Founder Lynk PR
Welcome to the second part of my three-part series designed to help entertainers strategically leverage social media to attract followers, fans, casting professionals, and investors. In Part 1, we discussed how to create and maintain a clear and authentic brand identity. Now, in Part 2, we will focus on actively growing your audience through genuine engagement, strategic collaborations, and analytics. In Part 3, we'll cover practical steps for converting social media followers into tangible career opportunities. Engaging actively with your followers is essential. Building a substantial following means little without meaningful interactions. Genuine engagement transforms casual followers into passionate supporters who advocate on your behalf. One filmmaker client made a point to reply personally and authentically to her followers’ comments. Her consistent interactions built a loyal community, resulting in her followers promoting her work organically and alerting casting agents and producers to her talents. Collaboration is another powerful method for audience growth. Collaborating strategically with creators whose audiences complement yours can significantly expand your reach. Cross-promotional projects introduce your content to entirely new communities. One actor client partnered with another YouTube creator to produce comedic sketches. This collaboration increased both creators' followings and ultimately drew the attention of investors, who were impressed by their combined audience engagement and marketability. Analytics also play an important role in social media strategy. All major platforms offer analytics tools providing insights into follower demographics, interests, and behavior. Understanding your analytics helps you create content your audience prefers. One actor initially shared professionally edited clips, but analytics showed that his followers preferred informal, authentic rehearsal videos. He adapted his content accordingly, resulting in substantial growth in follower numbers and increased industry interest. Directing your audience clearly and specifically is important for growth. Always include direct calls-to-action in your posts, guiding your audience to engage further with your content or professional portfolio. Clearly inviting followers to view your latest reel or explore your latest project helps turn passive viewers into active participants in your career journey. My professional advice is to engage authentically and strategically with your audience. Treat your social media as a genuine community rather than merely a broadcasting platform. Authentic connections with followers build trust, loyalty, and meaningful engagement, laying the foundation for significant career opportunities.
How to Use Instagram Hashtags Effectively (Without Looking Thirsty)
Let’s be honest, hashtags can feel cringy. Slap on #instagood or #nofilter and suddenly your carefully curated post feels like it’s begging for attention from 2014. But hold up, hashtags aren’t dead. They’ve just evolved. If you use them right, they can still help boost your reach, build your audience, and get your content in front of people who actually care. So whether you’re a creator, small biz owner, or just trying to get your hot take on whatever is trending seen, here’s how to make hashtags work for you in 2025. 1. Forget the Spammy Stuff We’ve moved way past the “throw 30 random hashtags in the caption and hope for the best” era. Instagram’s algorithm has gotten smarter, and so has your audience. Dumping #photooftheday and #love onto every post screams I’m trying too hard. Instead, choose 5 to 10 relevant, niche-specific hashtags that actually match your content. Think quality over quantity. Pro Tip: If you're posting a cozy bookshelf setup, #BookTok won’t help you but #DarkAcademiaReads might. 2. Get Specific, Not Generic The more targeted your hashtags are, the more likely you’ll attract users who want to engage, not just scroll past. Broad hashtags like #music or #fashion have millions of posts, and your content will get buried in seconds. Try hashtags that describe exactly what you’re posting. Instead of #foodie, use #NYCeats or #plantbasedsnacks. Instead of #fitness, go for #MobilityTraining or #StrongNotSkinny. You’re not trying to go viral with everyone, you’re trying to connect with your people. 3. Mix Big, Medium, and Micro Hashtags Think of hashtags like playing the lottery but smarter. A good mix increases your odds. Big hashtags (1M+ posts): Great for initial bursts of visibility Medium hashtags (100K–1M posts): Slower but more sustainable traction Micro hashtags (under 100K): Where the real engagement happens Let’s say you’re posting your band’s new single. Pair a big one like #NewMusicFriday with medium ones like #IndiePopVibes and micro ones like #BedroomPopArtists. That combo hits multiple levels of discoverability. 4. Location, Location, Location If you’re trying to grow locally or connect with your city’s scene, use geo-tags and location-based hashtags. #LAFashion, #BrooklynArtists, #TorontoCoffeeCrew, these hyper-local tags help the algorithm recommend you to nearby users. Especially for creators, musicians, or event promoters, this can lead to real-world collabs, invites, and gigs. Who doesn’t love that? 5. Post Hashtags in the First Comment If you hate how hashtags look in your caption, post them in the first comment. Instagram doesn’t penalize you for this, and your post still shows up in hashtag searches. Clean aesthetic, same reach. Win-win. The Bottom Line Hashtags aren't dead. They're just misunderstood. Used correctly, they can unlock niche communities, boost your discoverability, and bring real engagement to your content. Think strategic, not spammy. Curated, not chaotic. So next time you post, ditch the #blessed and give your content the tags it actually deserves. Sidebar: Trending Hashtags That Actually Work (2025 Edition) Steal these before they’re everywhere. Music & Creators #IndieSleazeRevival – For vintage vibes and underground artists #BedroomPopArtists – The algorithm loves DIY #NewMusicAlert – Great for teaser clips and drops #OpenVerseChallenge – Duet culture still lives #VinylCommunity – Old-school cool, Gen Z-approved Fashion & Aesthetic #MobWifeAesthetic – The bold look of 2024 #ThriftFlip – From secondhand to slay #CoquetteStyle – Feminine, flirty, and trending #OutfitRepeater – Because sustainability is stylish #StreetStyleDiaries – Real fits, real people Books & Pop Culture #RomantasyReads – Fantasy + spice = viral #BookTokMadeMeReadIt – Still unstoppable #DarkAcademiaVibes – Think candlelight, Latin, and longing #CozyHorror – Scary but soft #NowReading – Classic but clickable Lifestyle & Wellness #HotGirlHealing – The new self-care flex #RoutineTok – Morning, night, study—you name it #DigitalDeclutter – Detox content that performs #DeluluIsTheSolulu – Manifestation meets meme #SoftProductivity – Hustle... gently Food & Drink #LittleTreatCulture – Small joys, big engagement #SavoryGirlSummer – Move over, sweet #FermentationTok – For your inner food scientist #EatWithMe – Still crushing it in Reels #BudgetBites – For foodies on a mission Pro Tip: Want hyper-relevant tags? Search what creators in your niche are using. Then remix.
How International Cinema Is Reshaping What We Watch
Once considered “foreign films” buried in niche corners of streaming services, international cinema is now taking center stage—and changing what success looks like at the global box office. From South Korea to Nigeria, India to Spain, audiences around the world are no longer just watching Hollywood. They’re showing up for local-language films, tuning in to globally produced dramas, and helping smash box office records in territories that used to be afterthoughts. In short: the world has flipped the script. It Started with Squid Game And the World Noticed When Netflix dropped Squid Game in late 2021, nobody could have predicted what was coming. Within a few weeks, it became the most-watched show in Netflix history. But its impact went way beyond the screen. By 2023, the K-drama boom had fully exploded. Series like The Glory, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, and DP dominated not just Korean viewership, but global trending charts. Streaming algorithms now push K-dramas into feeds around the world. Suddenly, non-English storytelling wasn’t niche, it was the main event. Korean cinema rode that same wave. Concrete Utopia (2023) and Smugglers became international hits, while Bong Joon-ho and Park Chan-wook continue to be global rock stars in their own right. Korean storytelling, with its emotional depth and fearless genre blending, set the tone for a broader international takeover. Global Box Offices Are No Longer Hollywood’s Playground In 2023, Indian blockbuster Pathaan earned nearly $130 million globally. Japan’s Suzume and The First Slam Dunk lit up theaters across Asia, Europe, and even North America. China’s Full River Red and No More Bets each pulled in over $600 million, outpacing several major U.S. studio releases. Fast-forward to 2025, and the trend is still growing. Nollywood films are getting theatrical releases in U.K. and U.S. cities. French, Polish, and Argentine dramas are becoming go-to picks for international film festivals and Oscar shortlists. Even U.S. theaters are programming more non-English releases because audiences are showing up. Streaming Unlocked the World Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ realized what many studios hadn’t: people will watch anything good, regardless of language. As of 2024, more than 60 percent of Netflix’s top-performing content is non-English. Korean, Spanish, Hindi, and Japanese language series dominate viewing hours. TikTok trends and meme culture have picked up the baton too, pushing K-drama scenes and Bollywood dance sequences into daily conversation. Streaming made international content accessible. TikTok made it viral. Audiences Want Something Different People are tired of cookie-cutter blockbusters. International films often take risks stylistically, emotionally, and politically. Whether it's the maximalist madness of RRR, the tragic grace of Anatomy of a Fall, or the gritty intimacy of All Quiet on the Western Front, these films connect because they dare to do something new. They reflect different cultures, worldviews, and lived experiences. They feel real. And that resonates, especially with younger viewers who crave authenticity. The Future Is Multilingual From Paris to Seoul, Lagos to Mumbai, global creators are finally getting the attention, and the box office returns, they’ve long deserved. Expect more hybrid projects, global talent crossovers, and big-budget originals coming out of places Hollywood used to ignore. So if you’re still only watching English-language films, it might be time to check your subtitles. The biggest stories of 2025? They're being told all over the world.
