Action Magazine 2023
It all started with Take Action Apparel & Gear. With first-hand knowledge that bullying has become a serious epidemic in schools across the nation, Gabriel L. Silva wanted to help give kids like him a voice! "I was a victim of repeated bullying. I am small for my age and kids would make fun of me for my size. Eventually, the verbal turned physical. I know that not everyone is going to like me, and I am actually okay with that. But disliking and mistreating someone physically, verbally, or emotionally for basically being different and not taking the opportunity to get to know them for who they are, is not okay. I had an opportunity to travel to LA for pilot season, when I came home, I found out that three of my friends had had an even harder time than I did at school. I knew what they were feeling, but I was helpless to help them. I wanted to do something. So, we got together with a group of experts and some really cool designers to create Take Action Apparel & Gear." Fast forward through time, and as a result of Take Action Apparel & Gear, Action Magazine was born, giving a worldwide platform for both adults and kids in the industry, who are passionate about taking a stance against bullying, a place to share their stories. Effects on children that either are the bully or that are being bullied go well beyond the school day and sometimes last a lifetime. Students who are bullied sometimes resort to suicide and the bullies often find themselves incarcerated by the time that they are adults. "Action Magazine is a great way to showcase amazing talent within the industry, while at the same time, giving them an opportunity to let kids know that they are not alone and help them to feel empowered. I found my voice through acting/modeling and practicing Tae Kwon Do, I stopped focusing on the negative and was able to discover the positive in me. If we help just one by sharing our stories, then Action Magazine is doing what we have created it to do."

What are five things that you can't live without? The five things I can’t live without are: Designer shoes - allows me to express my sense of fashion My Mother- she’s my angel. She’s the inspiration to my cover of Halo Singing- I need to sing daily because wihtout it I can’t breathe-it’s my oxygen Sweets- to satisfy my sweet tooth and keep me energized Gym- to keep myself young and fit What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? My life’s motto is to stay positive and shield your mind from negativity. What's your favorite color? My favorite color is RED. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Mousehunt, because it’s a very entertaining comedy. What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is Breaking Bad, because its full of suspense. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I currently don’t own any pets but I would like to get a dog in the future, I love them! What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? My favorite place to travel to is Las Vegas because it’s the entertainment capital of the world! What is your favorite food? My favorite type of food is Mexican food, specifically burritos from El Sauz. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? There are so many to name but if I had to choose one it would be Rihanna because she’s such an inspiration and I would like to emulate a fraction of her success! What made you want to start singing? It’s always been a passion of mine from a very early age. My biggest role model is my mother’s aunt who is a prominent artist. I joined her choirs and sang alongside her. She constantly encouraged me to work hard so that I can elevate to the next level. That’s what propelled me forward in this industry. What is the most difficult thing about being a musician? I think the most difficult thing about being a musician is that people underestimate the amount of work that is required to become a successful musician. Sacrifices must be made in your personal life so that you can advance your career. I’ve sacrificed a lot and I don’t regret any moment! Where do you find inspiration for your music? I’ve had a lot of unique life experiences that I would like to translate into musical pieces to share with the world. What do you hope people take away from your music? I want my music to comfort people in their everyday lives, especially during times of adversity - whether it’s dealing with a toxic relationship, children living in poverty, etc. In one word, how would you describe your sound? Authentic! You are also a dancer. Tell us how you got started dancing. What is your favorite genre to dance to and why? I used to be a part of several dance groups - Latin, Armenian, Hip-Hop - where I learned different styles. I’ve always liked to dance. My favorite genre to dance to is Latin. Who is your favorite musician and why? I have a couple but if I had to choose it would be Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga is such a talented and creative artist who inspires many, and like me, she writes and performs her own music. How would you describe your fashion style? Elegant, sexy, edgy Who are some of your favorite musicians that you have worked with? Nico Aranda and Jeremy Lappitt . I had the opportunity to work with them briefly. I recorded “Stand by You” with them at east west studios, which turned out to be a great experience. Nico was on the acoustic guitar, and Jeremy played the saxophone. Their talent and creativity really shone through their work. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into music? Surround yourself with like-minded individuals, do extensive research to find the best vocal coach, and utilize your time effectively; spend it on training for media, vocal, music theory, etc. Always be well-prepared so that when opportunity comes knocking, you’re ready to answer. Who would be your dream music collaboration and why? My dream music collaboration would be with DJ Khaled because I love his energy, positivity, work ethic, and his drive for success. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I have OCD. I like for everything to be well-organized and perfect, and when it’s not, I start getting irritated. That is one of my biggest pet-peeves, when things are disorganized. Have you ever been bullied? Yes, I have. I think everyone gets bullied to an extent in life but my advice would be to not allow it to get to you. Everyone should be treated with respect and kindness. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? My advice to kids is to keep your head up high and don’t take the opinions of others to heart. You know your self worth and you shouldn’t let anybody bring you down. Don’t believe all the bad comments; they’re not an actual representation of who you are. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? You did well, Mery. Now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.

The most rewarding is getting to do what I love every time I book a role. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? The perfect role for me would be an action film where I get to showcase my parkour skills and my ability to get deep into a character. For your role in the Disney Jr. show, Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, tell us about your character, Miles Morales. How similar and different is he to your real personality? Miles and I are alike because we both like to draw, we love helping others and we are very stealthy! What is has been your favorite moment portraying such an iconic role? I would have to say every aspect of portraying Miles Morales has been a dream come true and has been an awesome experience. In addition to acting, you are also an activist. Bullies like to steal your confidence and dim your light, affirm yourself everyday in the mirror and know it’s not you it’s them. They are unhappy with themselves and you do not deserve the way they are treating you. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell him? I would tell my future self I love you and I am proud of us! We did it, we accomplished goal we set forth in a major way, oh yea and they finally cast you as the live action Miles Morales you are now old enough (hahaha.) Your time is coming.

What are five things that you can't live without? God, food (I’m a huge foodie!), my mom, outdoor adventures, friends What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Work Hard, Play Harder and Always be kind to others. What's your favorite color? Blue What is your favorite movie? Star Wars Return of the Jedi What is your favorite TV show? Right now it’s The Mandalorian. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? We are rescuers, so we have many! They range from small disabled dogs to cats to turtles. A few names are “Bean the Spider Monkey Rat”, Moo Moo, Gertrude, Skabella and Gizmo. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? The Bahamas What is your favorite food? Sushi!!! If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Sylvester Stallone because I love the Rocky series and I think he’s a super cool guy! What made you want to start acting? When I was younger, I wasn’t real sporty so my mom put me in acting for a creative outlet. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? I would say it’s when last minute large scripts come in and I have to give up free time after school or weekend time. You are known as “The Kidventurist”. Tell us how you got that awesome nickname. Well, these days I am super adventurous and into extreme style adventures/sports. I love anything fun, different and unique. I’m also still a kid so you add that to my adventurous side and you have “The Kidventurist”!! You have had many wonderful roles. What has been the one role that you relate to the most? I relate most to roles where I portray the friend or the cool kid. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? I would definitely want to play a Jedi or a Marvel Superhero! In addition to acting, you are also an influencer. Tell us how you got started influencing. What is the best part about being an influencer? As I grew on social media, I had companies reach out wanting to partner together. I enjoy the products they send and really only partner with brands I know I can honestly represent. The best part of being an influencer for me is getting to travel around the united states. I love to fly! In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I have just signed up to volunteer with The Surf Rider Foundation which is a Non-Profit dedicated to Ocean Protection. The ocean is the largest Eco System in the world. It is not just vital to marine life but to humans as well. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? I have many favorites however my top is probably Jim Carrey. I think he is an amazing talent and amazing at his craft. How would you describe your fashion style? It depends on what I am getting ready for. If it’s for an event then I am pretty cool, colorful and stylish. If it’s just for everyday life, I am often either in all black, mismatched or just a completely relaxed kind of vibe. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? I really loved working with Sasha Roiz from Grimm and also David Howard Thornton known as "Art the Clown"! I also got to meet and actually hang out for a bit with Viola Davis and her daughter Genesis. Viola is a powerhouse of a presence to be around. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? I would strongly advise doing it because YOU want to, not your parent wanting you to. There will be large pieces of dialog to memorize in short periods of time, it’s highly competitive so be ready to audition and forget it as it’s kind of like playing the lottery. You also need to be willing to sacrifice free time, nights and weekend sometime to take acting classes, attend auditions, memorize scripts, etc. You definitely need to be ready to dedicate yourself if you want to make a career out of it but the payoff is GREAT! Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? Pedro Pascal who plays the Mandalorian. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? Although I am going to be 14 and am 5’7", I still look up (or down lol) at my mom like I did when I was little. She can still give me “the look” and I’m scared! lol Have you ever been bullied? I was not one to be bullied but I have come across some pretty mean kids. Kids can be cruel to those they see as weak or even kind which is sad to witness. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Speak up to teachers, school staff and parents. Don’t be silent about it because you are afraid. Maybe get involved with some anti-bullying campaigns to learn some ways to not feel so alone and feel safe speaking up or asking for help. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell him? Good Job!
Jake was adopted into a wonderful, loving and supportive family at just 3-weeks-old. He was a happy, easy baby who was always smiling, so he was told. He grew up like any other kid going to public school, however, that was a struggle for him. After many years of being told that he had a learning disability, Jake's mom finally started to homeschool him. Within a year, he was receiving A’s and B’s. It turns out all he needed was a different way of learning. Jake has a compassion for kids who may be like him and are struggling because they don’t have the support needed to help change their learning environment. Action Magazine caught up with this talented young multi-talented young man to get to know him a lot better. Take a peek at some of her answers to our staple game of Q&A. Don't forget to follow him on Instagram.

What are five things that you can't live without? Music, my family, phone, my body pillow, my dog What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Your smile could change the world but don’t let the world change your smile. What's your favorite color? Red What is your favorite movie? Enola Holmes! What is your favorite TV show? Lucifer Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? Yes...a dog named Meeko and he is a Teacup Morkie. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Punta Cana, Dominican Republic What is your favorite food? Fettuccine Alfredo (bow pasta) If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, because I would to know how she dealt with homeschooling and doing her music at such a young age. I feel that her story is very much like mine. What made you want to start singing? That’s a very good question, I always loved singing wherever I was, in the car, in a store, just walking around and in my room. I started getting lots of compliments from strangers that told my mom I should be doing this professionally, so I took their advice and here I am today. What is the most difficult thing about being a musician? Balancing the time with school and other hobbies and being a teenager. Always come out with new ideas because everything about music changes all the time and you try to stay current. Where do you find inspiration for your music? My everyday life stories (friends, crushes, disappointments, struggles, my aspirations and dreams and a lot more) What do you hope people take away from your music? I would hope for people to relate to my music and lyrics, I know that a lot people go through what I’m going through and they are really struggling to accept themselves for the way they are. I would love for them to find hope through my songs and to love themselves. You have a new project, “Mask On,” tell us about this project? The song “Mask On” is about masking your emotions and pretending to be who other people want you to be. It’s a very special project for me, because after writing this song, I realized that I should not have a mask, and I should be my own true self without being scared of what people want me to be. In one word, how would you describe your sound? Pleasant! In addition to music, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I don’t do charity work yet but would LOVE TO help the whole would, but if I had to choose one I would love to help animals in need (the ones that have no home and need food, shelter and love). Who is your favorite musician and why? Billie Eilish, I love her uniqueness, I love her voice, I love her stories and I love how she’s different and she doesn’t care about anyone else’s opinions. How would you describe your fashion style? Hipster!!! And Streetwear. Who are some of your favorite musicians that you have worked with? Kayla Diamond, Andrew Briol, Polun, Chris Grey, Allegra Jordan and Kia Rose. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into music? First of all, DO IT!! But also know even though it’s a lot fun it’s also a lot of work...be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions. But don’t forget who you are in the process. And that you’re doing it because you love music. Who would be your dream music collaboration and why? Well, you already saw my previous but let change it up a bit. I would to collab with Tate McRae, First of all, I think we have a lot in common music wise and personality wise, and I feel I can learn a lot from her. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I am a very very VERY picky eater. Have you ever been bullied? Unfortunately yes...and most of my songs are about it. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? You’re never alone! There’s always gonna be someone out there who loves you for you. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? That is such a perfect question to end this interview with since my next release is called “Future Self” where I talk to my future self, and I ask myself how my life is turning out to be...some of the questions I asked in the song were “do you drink coffee?”, “did that boy we like ever become something?” and “are you famous yet?” I would tell my future self to just keep going and to trust yourself!!!!

What are five things that you can't live without? ● Music - Whether I'm working, going to the gym, or cooking, you will always find me listening to music. Especially by my favorite artist, Travis Scott. ● The Gym - Mentioned previously, the gym allows me to work through the troubles going on in my life in a positive and healthy way. ● Star Wars - Currently, I am really trying to grow my social media with the Star Wars community. Growing up, I always loved Star Wars, and to be able to be apart of a fandom that shares the same love that I do, it's such a good feeling. ● Friends - My friends are extremely important to me. Without them, I’m not sure where I’d be. They have been there for me through major events in my life and I’d do anything for them. ● Family - Family has always been the most important aspect of my life. My family and I are so close, and communicate daily. They shaped me to be the person I am today, and each one of them inspire me in all that they do. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always. - Robin Williams. This has always been a memorable quote for me, and I try to remind myself to live by this everyday. What's your favorite color? Depends on what mood I am in, but definitely Purple or Brown. What is your favorite movie? Back to The Future What is your favorite TV show? The Office Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have 3 cats! They are back in Las Vegas with my mom, and I miss them so much. Their names are Skippy, Chanel, and Blue. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? My favorite place I have traveled to is easily Castaway Cay. It's Disney's private island in the Bahamas, and you can only access it from the Disney Cruise. What is your favorite food? Anything chicken and rice! If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Chris Pratt. He’s undoubtedly my favorite actor, and watching interviews with him, I feel like I could learn so much just from a sit down dinner. What made you want to start acting? My sister actually! I was always on set while she was working, and one day I just said “I wanna try it.” After my first small projects, I loved it! What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? Rejection. It's so defeating going to countless auditions, having days spent preparing and hearing nothing from casting agents. How do you prepare for auditions? Running on lines pretty much nonstop. I run them with myself, my family, and my acting coach. I take deep amounts of time to really understand the character and the situation they are in. The industry is full of rejection. What is your advice on how to handle it? I have faced so much rejection, and as mentioned previously, it is the hardest part of the industry. At times it's made me want to give up. My best advice is to simply not give up. It's a fact that you are not going to get every audition you do. It's all about learning and gaining experience from each audition, and putting it towards the next one. You CANNOT give up. Stay strong, and your patience will pay off. You have had many wonderful roles. What has been the one role that you relate to the most? I would say voicing Kid Flash/Wally West in The Flash: Repentance. With Wally being only a teen when he receives his speedster abilities, all he wants to do is help people but realizes overtime that he's still a kid and can't do everything. I connect to that a lot where I try to do everything I can to all of those close to me, sometimes I need to give myself a break. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? That's a great question. It would be a role showcasing growth as a character. Someone who had it all, but went through catastrophic events and struggled to get back to where they were. Where they must fight through the pain and have patience for success in the end. This scenario I feel is something that I am continuously trying to grow past everyday. A lot has happened in recent years, and at times it gets the best of me. I want to get past that. In addition to acting, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I am a huge advocate for providing kids with the amazing childhood they deserve. That's why I often host fundraiser Halloween parties for Trick or Treat for UNICEF. I also donated all of my 16th birthday presents to Fosterall, a charity for foster kids. I'm always looking for chances to give to people. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Chris Pratt. First off, he's an incredibly talented actor, but what I appreciate more is the person he is off the screen. He's a genuine person inside and out. Not afraid to voice his faith, as well as stay loyal to close friends. He's an amazing guy. How would you describe your fashion style? My go-to style is definitely oriented towards streetwear. I am a huge sneaker head and love to show off my latest sneakers. I also am really into watches and love to pair it with my jeans, cargo pants, graphic tee and/or hoodie! Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? I've had the opportunity to act with some amazing people, Ben Savage, Patton Oswalt, etc. But my favorite person I worked with was Blake Shelton. I worked with him on NBC’s Blake Shelton’s Not So Family Christmas Special. In between takes, we would have genuine conversations. I was very young at the time, and he gave me respect as if I was an adult. He even came and met my mom after we wrapped filming. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into acting? Do not hesitate. Hesitation is what prevents you from really starting acting. I get how hard it may be to get started, but you need to put yourself out there. First, get experience with smaller projects, such as student projects. Don't go in expecting to become a star overnight. Start small to grow your resume, to show bigger productions you are serious. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? I would love to work with Millie Bobby Brown. She's an incredible actress, and around the same age as me. I feel like I could learn so much from her, and make an amazing friend in the process What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I LOVE to cook. Very few people expect this when I have told them, and so it's a big surprise not many people know about. Have you ever been bullied? I was bullied heavily as a child, primarily in elementary school. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Be yourself. I know it's easy to say, but people say it for a reason. Really think about it, these bullies have power over you because you are letting them. Ignore their snarky remarks, because you are better than that. They're putting energy into YOU. How bored do they have to be to do something like that? If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell him? Be patient, Tarik. I know things are tough right now, and there's a lot on your plate. But stay strong. Keep moving forward.

The Office TV show. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? So many people try to be like others instead of working hard to be the best version of themselves. I live by the motto of just be yourself, there is no one like you. What's your favorite color? Love the color purple in all shades. What is your favorite movie? Inception by Christopher Nolan What is your favorite TV show? The Office. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have two girl doggies. Sunnie is my Maltipoo and Joy is my Shichon. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Greece. I have been several times because I have family there. It is unlike any other place I have ever been. The waters are so clear and beautiful. The food is so fresh and amazing. What is your favorite food? I love avocados. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Taylor Swift. She started at a young age like myself. I would love to ask her so many questions about her whole journey. What made you want to start singing? I started in the acting industry when I was five. I signed with my first talent agency in St. Louis where I am originally from. From that moment, I started booking commercials and print jobs. I took up dancing, piano and singing classes, and joined a musical theater company as well. I also loved watching Disney channel as a kid and looked up to Miley Cyrus. She was both an actress and a singer. I knew then that I wanted this. And now I am in Nashville making music. What is the most difficult thing about being a musician? Waiting. Its more of a good type of difficult. To patiently wait for the next opportunity. This is probably the most difficult thing to do. Where do you find inspiration for your music? There are many things that inspire my music. Some of my inspirations come from experiences I have been through. At times I use my journal that I keep. I also listen to all types of music. I think its important to also learn from other artists as well. They have so much wisdom. What do you hope people take away from your music? I hope that people can relate to my music with their own story. I want my music to resonate with all people and all genres. Music is universal. You have a new project, “The Deep End,” tell us about this project? "The Deep End" is a vulnerable love song. I got several ideas for the song from my journal. I wanted to make a love song that would be relatable or real. When you're in a relationship, sometimes we develop stronger feelings for someone and we might question how the other person feels. This song is for the hopeless romantic. Longing for our partner to feel the same but not sure if it will ever get there. In one word, how would you describe your sound? I want my sound to show that I am real. So I would say relatable. My hope is that my sound can be loved by all. Who is your favorite musician and why? Ed Sheeran. He started when he was a teenager with no experience. And he is so talented. I love watching him play guitar and use his loop station. How would you describe your fashion style? My fashion style is what I call urban country. I love western wear with a twist of an urban feel. My mom has been a huge part of my style as she puts a lot of my outfits together. We both love fashion so much. I could totally see myself having some sort of clothing line in the future. Who are some of your favorite musicians that you have worked with? A recent favorite of mine is Chris Gelbuda. He is a songwriter, musician, and producer. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into music? My best advice is to always keep an open mind for learning. And with that you will continue to grow. Work hard and stay the course. I learn something new daily and I am so thankful to the teachers that have given me so much already on my journey. Who would be your dream music collaboration and why? I would love the opportunity to work with Kacey Musgraves. I love everything about her music. I love her lyrics and melodies. I would ask so many questions and learn so much from her. It would be a dream. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I am trained in martial arts. I have experience in Krav Maga which is Israeli Martial Arts and Boxing. Have you ever been bullied? Middle school was a tough time for me. Without going into details, I was hurt physically and emotionally. I was bullied for loving music and acting. My peers gave me such a hard time. It made it difficult to be at school. I eventually went full time to homeschool. This helped me as I was traveling back and forth to LA. It didn't heal what they had done to me but it helped me to escape what I was going through. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? First I would say, don't be afraid to seek help. Talk to your parents. Don't be afraid to be yourself, and know that you are worth it. And just remember, there is no one like you. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? I am so proud of you!

Chorizo, a Miniature Daschund What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Greece What is your favorite food? Stone Oven Pizza If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Drew Barrymore, she is funny kind and a good weird like me. What made you want to become an entertainment journalist? Be close to entertainment without being the center of it. What is the most difficult thing about doing red-carpet interviews? The mini panic attack you get right before you ask a question to a celebrity and remembering your questions. You have interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry. How do you prepare? Reading is fundamental, but also treating them like normal human beings and doing proper research into their current mood, etc to not catch them off guard etc. Who has been your favorite person to interview? Tell us about the experience. Adam Sandler & Jennifer Aniston are kind and real-life funny too! Harrison Ford was very sweet and shared some amazing stories. If you could, what would be the one thing that you’d change about entertainment journalism? Clickbait, it can be harmful, but it seems to drive traffic. What has been the “takeaway” from your career to date that has made you a better journalist/host? Taking my time and believing in what I am discussing. Being kind with how I approach each scenario. In addition to being a journalist/host, what other things are you passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler, Harrison Ford, Dermot Mulroney, Keke Palmer, Dennis Quaid, Daniel Kaluuya What advice would you give other kids that want to break into journalism? What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I have severe anxiety, I will hide it but sometimes I feel like I am getting out of breath, I don’t even know what causes it anymore. Have you ever been bullied? A lot in England, either because I didn’t do the things they did, wear make-up, or my weight. It was always a struggle trying to fit in there with two Middle Eastern parents and different values. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Do not let it shape your life, you will grow up and be something great. The bullies are usually going through something, talk to your parents or someone you trust and it will be resolved. It does not define your life or who you will be. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? Just relax and stop overthinking.

What are five things that you can't live without? 1. My family is the number one thing I can't live without. They are so supportive of me and everything I do. They play a big role in my life and I would not be who I am today without them. I am very grateful for their constant love and support and I am very lucky to have them! 2. My pets are very important to me and I love them so much. They make me happy every day and it is so much fun playing with them and being around them. I cannot imagine life without them. 3. Music is a big part of my life and listening and playing music is one of my favorite ways to spend my time. I’ve grown up around music so it has always been a part of me and I am so excited about Duplexity because I can’t wait to spread my love for music and have a positive effect on people. 4. My friends are very important to me. They are always there for me and when I’m with them I am guaranteed to have a good time. Whether its jamming and rocking out or just hanging out and watching a movie. I am very grateful for the friendships I have! 5. I do not know where I would be if it wasn’t for acting. Acting is one of my biggest passions. When I was really little my sister Savannah and I, would put on shows for our parents. I am so lucky and blessed to have already had so many opportunities in acting. I know how blessed I am to already know what I want to do in my life and pursue my craft! What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Learn from yesterday, live for today, and hope for tomorrow. -AlbertEinstein I live by this quote because it means a lot to me. Learn from yesterday and try to be better today. Cherish today because it is a gift and we need to treat it like a gift. Hope that tomorrow will be even better than today. If you wake up tomorrow and have a positive mindset I guarantee you will have an amazing day. What's your favorite color? My favorite color either has to be blue or purple. I always loved the color blue and when I was younger, most of the things I had were blue. Recently, I’ve been loving the darker blue shades like midnight blue. I also like the color purple. Both blue and purple are both very similar on the color wheel, that’s probably why I like them both. What is your favorite movie? I have two favorite movies: Shrek and Megamind. Shrek is such a great movie. I love the whole fairytale aspect of it and how they make fun of literately everything. After watching it again a couple years ago, I finally understood all the jokes. It is a great movie for both parents and kids. Megamind is the movie that my family always watched when I was younger. Megamind has the best soundtrack, in the final fight scene it played “Welcome to the Jungle,” by Guns and Roses, it also plays Ozzy Osborne and AC/DC. The storyline just pulls you in and it is such a good movie to sit and watch with the family. We still reference Megamind to this day. What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show lately is The Walking Dead. We watch a lot of TV in our house, we love the character development of a series. My parents used to watch it when I was really little and when I started watching it, they agreed to watch it a second time. The show makes you think,“What would I do in this situation,” I love shows that are psycological thrillers and make you think, that show really made me think. Plus the actors were amazing in it. We always like to watch shows and movies that we can learn from the performances. Sometimes we pause and rewind and pause again and have a full discussions about the choices the actors made. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have three Australian shepherds. When I was six, we got our first dog, Wilha. She was our only dog for about nine years until we got our second dog, Willie. Then, after a year we got our newest dog, Billie Jo. Recently, we were at an event, and there was this teeny tiny stray kitty that was hiding behind the front door. We brought her home that night and now we have a cat! Her name is Lillie and she is a gray tabby and she has the cutest white paws. My mom says if we get any more animals, we will need to leave LA and go live on a farm. So, I guess we won't be getting anymore. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Most of our vacations are going to Florida to see family and check on our salons we have there. I always love going to Florida because I love the open space and I like to ride horses and shoot my crossbow. My 16th birthday was very special because we went to this really cool resort like marine amusement park in Florida called Discovery Cove. It is all about marine life and there are a ton of activities you can do. I got to swim with a dolphin and it brought me a special buoy that said “Happy 16th Birthday Luke”. My favorite part was an underwater tour, you put on this heavy breathing apparatus helmet and you follow a guide through a path and see and interact with the marine life. What is your favorite food? Food plays a big part in our lives. Every holiday is very special because we always cook amazing food. Usually on Christmas my mom makes the best lasagna ever. My favorite type of food is Japanese food. I grew up loving Sushi, there are so many different rolls, and it has been my favorite food for as long as I can remember. I also love the Hibachi and love going to dinner with a big group, it's so fun when they cook it in front of you. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? If I could have dinner with anyone in the world it would be Jack Black. I think he could teach me a lot and I relate to him because he was a child actor. I think that a dinner with him would not only be so much fun (because he is hilarious) but it would be a valuable learning experience. I can only imagine he would have so much advice and solid lessons for me. I love a ton of his movies and I’m also a big fan of his band Tenacious D. I think he is also a really nice guy. So yea, I would love to have dinner with him if I had my choice. What made you want to start acting? Ever since I was little I’ve been an entertainer and I’ve always loved acting. I would watch Madagascar and I would act out Alex the Lion. I would be so serious and do his roar. My mom would always video me acting out different animals and characters I would see on TV. I would also be crying then like a flip of a switch start hysterically laughing. She always said “Luke is going to be an actor one day!” What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? I think the most difficult thing about being an actor is realizing that you just need to be yourself and don’t overthink everything. When you get an audition for any role you have to find some way to relate it to you. When you are overthinking and playing someone else it doesn’t come as naturally, but when you are being yourself and are calm that’s when you truly shine. The no’s are also hard. I don’t like to say the rejection because you can't look at not getting a role as “rejection”. Getting an audition is a win, that is what we always say at our house. But if you don’t book something for awhile, it is hard to not let it get in your head. How do you prepare for auditions? I take acting classes, improv classes and workshops so, I am constantly working on my craft. When I get an audition, the first thing I do is learn the script. Then, I research and look up anything I do not understand. I try to find out as much information as I can about the script so I know exactly what is going on. Then I decide the choices I am going to make for the role and I work on it every day until the day of the audition. You have had many wonderful roles. What has been the one role that you relate to the most? The role I relate to the most is my role Zack on Fresh Off the Boat. That role was the most like me, he was kind and fun to be around. When I was on set I didn’t feel like I was working or acting I was just being myself. My favorite role that I played was on a show called Evil and my name was Eric Mcrystal. I had a blast working on that show, the cast and crew were so amazing I never wanted the job to end! Plus, it was really fun playing a child psychopath! If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? If I could write the perfect role for me, I would write about myself. I would love to make a show about my family and all the crazy stories and adventures we have had and continue to have. My entire life Savannah and I have wanted to make a show about our family. We own salons so there is something going on and some kind of “drama” plus the adventure of moving to LA and getting into the child acting arena would be very entertaining for people to watch. There is no better role that I can play other than myself! In addition to acting, you are also in a band with your sister, Savannah. Tell us about the band. What kind of music do you all play? What has been your favorite gig to date and why? I am in a Indie-Rock band with my sister, Savannah named Duplexity. We have been in the studio working on original songs. We are very excited to start performing our new music. We have our first gig as Duplexity at The Federal in Aug! My favorite gig that I have done so far was when one of my friends had a concert for her family and friends. It was so chill and personal. I sang and Savannah played bass. We did a song called "Aerials" by System of a Down and "Everlong" by The Foo Fighters. Those are two of my favorite songs and I am very glad I got to sing them in front of an audience! In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I am very passionate about giving back. My family has always instilled how important it is to be kind and help people. We have always made it a point to donate anything and everything we can. My parents would routinely have us go through all of our stuff and choose which items we wanted to donate. Even when we didn’t want to they would encourage us and remind us how happy it could make another child. Our favorite organization to supportis St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. They help sick children and their families by lessening the financial burden of medical care. I was a sick child and I always want to help other sick kids and their families because it is very stressful and knowing I can be a small part of helping families through a time like that, warms my heart! Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? I have a ton of favorite actors and it is hard to pinpoint my favorite one. So, my 3 favorite actors are Jim Carrey, Jack Black, and Brad Pitt. Even though they all have different acting styles the reason I chose all three of them is because they are all very committed to every role they play and I grew up loving these icons. I am a big fan of all three of them and I can’t choose who I like the most. I love to watch any and all of their movies and analyze their performances. How would you describe your fashion style? Until recently, my mom would go shopping for me and that's what I would wear. Lately I’ve been enjoying shopping and picking out clothes for events. I realized that fashion is a fun creative way of self expression. I lately have been liking more grungy dark colors. When I was younger, most of my clothes were blue because I liked blue. Now, I can say my closet has a wider array of colors and styles. I am looking forward to experimenting more with my style as I get older. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? One of the best experiences I’ve had on set was when I was working on a western called A Soldiers Revenge. I got to work with Val Kilmer. Val is also one of my favorite actors and it was really cool to not only meet him but to act with such a legend. He was so nice to everyone and watching him act was so mesmerizing. He taught me so much that day and I had a blast working with Val Kilmer. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? Put in the work and its a long process. Entertaining is amazing and a lot of dedication. Most people think it’s easy. It is not. There is so much work that you need to put into it and you have to work your craft every single day. Just like going to the gym, acting is a muscle and if you slack off, you get rusty. The acting industry takes a long time to break into, so when you start don’t expect that you are going to be number 1 on IMDB in a single day. (More like 20+ years) I really respect actors that have been acting their whole lives and I hope to be like them someday. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? I would love to be in a movie with Brad Pitt. He is not only the most brilliant actor and one of my favorites. Having the opportunity to work with him would be such a incredible learning experience. I am such a big fan of his and he inspires me so much in every single film of his. I recently watched one of his new movies, Bullet Train and his acting was so good I forgot he was Brad Pitt. Plus, working with Brad Pitt would be so cool, I mean he is Brad Pitt! What is one thing that nobody knows about you? When I was a born, I was very ill. I had very bad asthma that weakened my immune system so I couldn't really be around a lot of people. Even going to school I would get sick, stay home, go on meds finally go back then after a few days get sick again. My lungs were very weak, and I had to be nebulized every day multiple times. That is the biggest reason I am anti-drugs because my lungs already don’t work to their fullest and I don’t need them to get worse by smoking and doing drugs. I realize how lucky I am to feel good every day now that I am older and my asthma is better. Moving to LA for my acting was also the best thing for my health. I love LA and I hope to live here forever. Have you ever been bullied? I am very lucky because I was never bullied. For half of my school years I was homeschooled, so there was no bullying. I grew up in Beverly Hills, so I did go to the school district there. I was so lucky to find a friend group that was really awesome and supportive of me and they made my time at school really special. I believe being bullied happens to most kids at some point in their school years. I think homeschooling really helps kids steer clear from any negative school experiences. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Ignore them, know that you are enough and they are just jealous of you because you are awesome. There is no point in bullying someone when they aren’t getting affected in anyway. Just be nice to them and hopefully they will stop and reconsider their actions. If it continues, please tell an adult so that the bully can be dealt with in the right way before it becomes dangerous. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell him? I would probably tell him that I am proud of him because he accomplished all of my childhood dreams. I am hoping in the future I get a ton of recognition for doing the things I love. I would ask him questions like, “what kind of advice do you have for me, and what did u wish I did when I was younger,” and, “what can I do now to get better at acting and singing,”. I would also ask him “what can I do better that will help you now?!”

My life motto has to be Embrace Growth, Seek Knowledge, and Inspire Others. What's your favorite color? My all-time favorite color has t be red! I love how bold it is! What is your favorite movie? The movie I can’t watch endlessly is Ratatouille! It was the first movie I had ever seen! What is your favorite TV show? This is a tough question, but I have to go with The Simpsons! I can watch that show so many times, and it never gets boring! Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I currently don't have a pet, but I used to have a remarkable companion—a bearded dragon! It was fascinating, and I affectionately named it Shadotics! The name Shadotics stems from my own nickname, 'Shad,' and my genuine fondness for all things exotic! What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? I had the incredible opportunity to explore the magnificent French Riviera, which stunned me completely! I can't express how genuinely mesmerizing the entire experience was. From the tempting culinary delights that tantalized my taste buds to the pristine beaches that beckoned me to unwind, every aspect of this place was simply enchanting. The rich cultural heritage that permeated every street and corner was nothing short of a delightful immersion. Oh, and let's not even begin to discuss the heavenly weather that graced this paradise! I am determined to revisit this amazing destination as it has undeniably earned the top spot in my heart among all the European places my family and I explored. What is your favorite food? My favorite food must be shrimp! The versatile crustacean offers endless culinary possibilities, tantalizing my taste buds with each savory creation. However, my pièce de résistance remains the irresistible Shrimp Scampi, prepared with homemade Linguini Pasta. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Beyonce! I have always admired her incredible dedication to her craft. What sets her apart from any competition is that her only rival is herself. Her astonishing vocals are unparalleled, leaving audiences in awe of her mesmerizing performances. Witnessing her "Formation World Tour" in Atlanta was an experience I will forever cherish. While I regrettably missed the opportunity to attend BEYchella due to filming MasterChef Junior, my two brothers were featured in her Homecoming film on Netflix. Beyoncé's ability to utilize her platform in such an awe-inspiring manner is truly remarkable, making her an unparalleled role model for countless individuals worldwide. Beyoncé if you are reading this, I will take you wherever! I will pay! What made you want to become a chef? Working in my grandfather’s restaurant in New York, profoundly impacted my aspirations to become a chef. The opportunity to immerse myself in entrepreneurship and the culinary world at a young age ignited a deep passion, inspiring me to embark on an exciting culinary journey. What is the most difficult thing about being a chef? Being a chef can be an incredibly demanding and challenging profession. One of the most difficult aspects of being a chef is the immense pressure and high-stress environment of working in a professional kitchen. Chefs are constantly under tight deadlines, serving multiple customers at once and ensuring that every dish meets high standards of taste and presentation. The fast-paced nature of the kitchen can be overwhelming, requiring chefs to think quickly on their feet, make split-second decisions, and handle unexpected challenges gracefully. Maintaining creativity and constantly innovating in the culinary field can be mentally taxing. Chefs are expected to develop unique and exciting menus, experiment with new flavors and techniques, and stay ahead of trends. This requires continuous learning, research, and the ability to push boundaries while balancing the expectations of customers and the need to maintain profitability. Overall, the most challenging thing about being a chef is the combination of intense pressure, long hours, physical demands, and the need for creativity and innovation. It takes great passion, dedication, and resilience to thrive in this challenging yet rewarding profession. What do you enjoy the most about cooking and why? One of the most enjoyable aspects of cooking is the creative expression it allows. Cooking is like an art form where ingredients are the palette and flavors are the colors. As a chef, I enjoy experimenting with different ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques to create unique and delicious dishes. Combining various flavors and textures to craft a harmonious and visually appealing plate creates satisfaction and joy. Cooking has become a form of self-expression, allowing me to showcase my culinary skills and style. Cooking provides an avenue for bringing people together and creating memorable experiences. Food has the remarkable ability to create emotions and make connections. Sharing a meal, I have prepared with family, friends, or strangers allows me to create moments of joy, warmth, and togetherness. Whether it's a gathering of friends, a family celebration, or a special event, cooking allows me to create lasting memories and foster a sense of community. The satisfaction of seeing people enjoy and appreciate the food I've cooked is immeasurable and fuels my passion for cooking even further. What do you enjoy the least about being in the kitchen and why? One aspect of being in the kitchen that I enjoy the least is the cleanup process. After a delightful cooking session, facing a sink full of dirty dishes, pots, and pans can be tiresome. The time and effort required to wash, scrub, and dry all the utensils and equipment can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you're exhausted from cooking. Cleaning up spills, greasy countertops, and splatters can be a tedious task that takes away from the joy of creating a delicious meal. However, I understand that proper cleanliness is essential for maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, so I remind myself of the importance of this step and tackle it with a positive mindset. Another aspect that I find challenging is the pressure and time constraints that can arise in a professional kitchen setting. There is a constant demand for efficiency and precision when cooking for many people or during a busy service. The need to multitask, coordinate with fellow chefs, and ensure timely and consistent food preparation can be mentally and physically demanding. The pressure to meet high standards and deliver exceptional dishes within tight deadlines can be stressful. However, this aspect also pushes me to grow as a chef, enhance my organizational skills, and develop the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations. Ultimately, while these challenges can be daunting, they are also opportunities for personal and professional growth within the culinary realm. Tell us about your time on MasterChef. What was the best experience out of all about being on the show? Being on MasterChef was an incredible and unforgettable experience. I was surrounded by a remarkable group of like-minded individuals who shared an intense passion for the culinary arts. Working in one of the world's most renowned kitchens and learning from the industry's finest chefs was a dream come true. The lessons I learned throughout my journey were invaluable, teaching me the significance of perseverance and the power of teamwork. Moreover, I formed deep and lasting connections with fellow contestants, creating lifelong friendships. One of the highlights of my MasterChef journey was the exciting circus team challenge. It was an extraordinary experience to find myself during a vibrant circus atmosphere, where I had the daunting task of preparing meals for over a hundred people. Despite the intense heat and the close call with a potential heat stroke, I enjoyed every second of the challenge. The adrenaline rush and the satisfaction of delivering delectable dishes under such demanding circumstances were truly remarkable. It was an experience that pushed me to the limits of my abilities and allowed me to showcase my culinary prowess in an entirely unique setting. If you had to create the perfect dish that no one has ever heard of or tasted what would it be? If I could create a dish no one has ever heard of or tasted, I would craft a culinary masterpiece called "Harmony of Elements." This extraordinary dish would be a harmonious blend of flavors, textures, and culinary techniques designed to tantalize the taste buds and ignite the senses. The base of the dish would consist of a delicate yet robust protein such as tender sous vide-cooked duck breast infused with a secret blend of aromatic spices. This would be accompanied by a medley of colorful, seasonal vegetables; each prepared distinctly to showcase their natural flavors and textures. Think of perfectly roasted baby carrots glazed with honey and thyme, lightly steamed asparagus spears, and charred Brussels sprouts with a hint of smokiness. To add an unexpected twist, I would incorporate a velvety, citrus-infused sauce made from a rare fruit native to a remote, unexplored corner of the world. This sauce would provide a tangy and slightly sweet element, balancing the richness of the duck and enhancing the overall flavor profile. To elevate the dish further, I introduce an element of surprise and playfulness. Picture a delicate edible sphere crafted from a translucent gel with exotic herbs and spices. As this delicately bursts in the mouth, it releases a burst of refreshing and invigorating flavors, creating an unforgettable taste experience. Finally, to add a touch of elegance and visual appeal, the dish would be garnished with edible flowers, microgreens, and a sprinkle of edible gold dust, lending a touch of luxury and sophistication to the presentation. "Harmony of Elements" would be a true culinary revelation, combining innovative flavors, artistry, and a touch of mystery. It would be an experience that takes diners on an extraordinary journey of taste and exploration, leaving them with a sense of wonder and delight and a newfound appreciation for the endless possibilities of gastronomy. In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I love giving back to the community, and it brings me immense joy to volunteer for countless hours each month. When I resided in Atlanta, I loved volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, a wonderful establishment supporting needy families. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to assist those who required assistance. I cherish spending time at the beach and engaging in trash clean-ups. To further this cause, my friend and I have established a non-profit organization called Goocean, which is dedicated to hosting beach cleanings. Our collective efforts aim to preserve our oceans' beauty while positively impacting our environment. In addition to my community involvement, academics are significant in my life. I have challenged myself throughout high school by enrolling in nearly ten Advanced Placement classes, and I plan to take six next year. As a testament to my commitment to education, I am pursuing an Economics course at Harvard this summer. Giving back to my community, protecting our environment, and excelling academically resonates deeply with me. By dedicating my time and effort to these endeavors, I can contribute to a better world and inspire others to do the same. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? My favorite actor is Denzel Washington. His acting skills are unbelievable, and his ability to portray a character is unparalleled. I truly admire his positivity and intellect. Denzel Washington is not only highly educated but also a remarkable individual. His acting comes across as incredibly natural. How would you describe your fashion style? My fashion style is unique, and I pride myself on blending diverse elements. I enjoy pushing the boundaries and creating unexpected combinations. For instance, wearing a colorful polo shirt with formal pants, I'll elevate the outfit by accessorizing with a bold and eye-catching chain around my neck or by wearing cool rings. I thrive on experimenting with various styles, not limiting myself to just streetwear. Whether it's baggy clothes, formal attire, or even old dad clothes, I embrace them all. Blending different styles creates a whole new image that defies expectations. This fusion of contrasting elements forms the essence of my fashion identity, making it truly one-of-a-kind. Who are some of your favorite chefs that you have worked with? Wow! That's an excellent question. If I had to choose, I would say Aaron Sanchez! Working with him on MasterChef was truly amazing. His culinary creativity is absolutely admirable. Not only was he an outstanding chef, but he was also incredibly kind to me. I truly appreciate how he elevates his culinary skills to new heights and accomplishes so much with them! What advice would you give other kids that want to become chefs? First and foremost, never stop exploring your passion for cooking. Start by experimenting in your kitchen and learn the basics of different cooking techniques. Try out new recipes, and don't be afraid to make mistakes, as they are valuable learning experiences. Additionally, it's essential to educate yourself about various cuisines worldwide. Read books, watch cooking shows, and immerse yourself in the culinary world to broaden your knowledge and inspire creativity. Seek opportunities to gain practical experience, such as volunteering at local restaurants or attending culinary workshops. Finally, becoming a chef requires hard work, dedication, and resilience. It's a demanding profession, but if you genuinely love it, never give up on your dreams and keep honing your skills. Secondly, developing a strong work ethic is crucial for aspiring young chefs. This field requires long hours, physical stamina, and the ability to work under pressure. Cultivate discipline and perseverance from an early age, as these traits will be your allies throughout your culinary journey. Take advantage of any opportunity to learn from experienced chefs and professionals in the industry. Seek internships or apprenticeships to gain practical skills and knowledge in a professional kitchen. Remember to be humble and open to feedback; constructive criticism will help you grow and improve. Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences by staying updated with the latest food trends, techniques, and culinary innovations. Lastly, nurture your creativity and develop your unique culinary style. Experiment with flavors, ingredients, and presentations to create dishes that showcase your personality and passion. With hard work, dedication, and a genuine love for cooking, you can turn your dream of becoming a chef into a delicious reality. Who would be your dream kitchen collaboration be and why? One of my dream kitchen collaborations would be with Karla Hall, a renowned chef and television personality. Karla Hall's infectious enthusiasm for food and her ability to bring people together through cooking make her an ideal collaborator. Her diverse culinary background, including Southern cuisine and her personal twist on comfort food, would add a unique flavor to our collaboration. Karla Hall's expertise and experience as a chef would significantly enhance the collaboration. Her successful career, including being a former contestant on Top Chef and co-hosting The Chew, has exposed her to various cooking styles, techniques, and ingredients. Collaborating with her would allow me to learn from her vast knowledge and gain insights into her creative process. Moreover, Karla Hall's warm and engaging personality would make the collaboration educational and enjoyable. Her ability to connect with people through food and her inclusive cooking approach aligns with my values. Together, we could create dishes that taste delicious, tell stories, and evoke emotions. Overall, collaborating with Karla Hall would be a dream come true. Her culinary expertise, infectious enthusiasm, and ability to unite people would make for a unique and inspiring collaboration in the kitchen. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? One thing that many people may not know about me is just how much of a family-oriented person I truly am. My family holds a special place in my heart, and I cherish every moment I spend with them. Whether gathering around the dinner table for a home-cooked meal, going on adventurous bike rides together, or simply enjoying a movie night cuddled up on the couch, these moments are priceless to me. We have this tradition of going on long bike rides, exploring new paths, and discovering hidden gems in our city. It's not just about the physical activity but also the quality time and shared experiences that make these rides special. The laughter, the conversations, and the sense of togetherness we feel during these outings are truly irreplaceable. Aside from our biking adventures, we also love exploring other activities together. We are avid movie enthusiasts, always excited to catch the latest releases or delve into classics. We have lively discussions about the plots, characters, and deeper meanings behind the films we watch. Additionally, we enjoy immersing ourselves in nature through hiking trips. The serenity of the trails, the beauty of the surroundings, and the opportunity to disconnect from the busy world create a sense of peace and tranquility that we all appreciate. Trying out new restaurants is another shared passion. We love discovering unique flavors, experiencing different cuisines, and savoring delicious meals together. It's not just about the food itself, but the joy of exploring new tastes and the conversations that flow around the table. All these activities, from biking to movie nights to culinary adventures, bring us closer as a family and create lasting memories that I will cherish forever. Have you ever been bullied? Yes, I have been bullied. It mainly began during middle school, when I started gaining traction on social media and when MasterChef Junior aired. As my YouTube videos gained attention and my TikToks began circulating, a barrage of unsolicited opinions flooded. People took it upon themselves to ridicule my creative ideas, finding joy in belittling my efforts and mocking my content. The weight of their criticisms and hurtful words made it incredibly challenging to maintain my passion for the entertainment industry. The impact of this bullying extended far beyond the confines of the digital world. It seeped into my daily life, permeating the hallways of my school and poisoning my social interactions. Trust became a precious commodity, as even some of my so-called "friends" seemed more interested in perpetuating rumors and betraying my trust rather than supporting me. The constant fear of having my personal life exposed and my business spread among my peers took a toll on my emotional well-being. Navigating through this turbulent period, I struggled to discern who my genuine friends were amidst the falsehoods and gossip. It was an arduous journey to identify those individuals who would stand by my side through thick and thin and who would uplift me rather than tear me down. However, I remained resilient, determined to rise above the cruelty and pursue my dreams despite the discouragement that surrounded me. While the experience of being bullied left lasting scars, it also instilled in me a profound sense of empathy and compassion for others who have faced similar struggles. It taught me the importance of surrounding myself with genuine individuals who uplift and support me unconditionally. Despite my hardships, I refuse to let the negativity define me. Instead, I use these experiences as motivation to create a better, more inclusive world where everyone can pursue their passions without fear of judgment or ridicule. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? To all the kids who are enduring the pain of bullying, I want you to know that you are not alone. It can be an incredibly challenging and isolating experience, but reaching out for help is crucial. Find someone you trust—a parent, teacher, counselor, or any supportive adult—and confide in them about what you're going through. Opening up about your struggles allows others to provide the guidance and support you need to navigate this difficult situation. It's essential to remember that the bullying you're experiencing does not define your worth or who you are as a person. Surround yourself with positive influences, whether it's friends who uplift you or engaging in activities that bring you joy and build your self-confidence. Self-care is vital during these tough times. Take care of your mental and emotional well-being by practicing daily affirmations. Look into a mirror, acknowledge your strengths, and express love for yourself. It may be easier said than done, but try not to let the opinions of others define your self-worth. Often, people who bully are driven by their insecurities and jealousy. Understanding this can help you detach yourself from their hurtful words. Looking back, I wish I had realized that seeking everyone's approval is impossible. It's okay if not everyone likes you or understands you. Focus on embracing your authentic self and surrounding yourself with individuals who genuinely appreciate you for who you are. Don't hesitate to seek resources and support groups that can offer guidance and strategies to cope with bullying. You don't have to face this battle alone. Always remember that you are stronger than you think and capable of overcoming this adversity. Keep your head held high and know that you have the power to rise above the negativity. Lean on your support system, practice self-love, and keep moving forward. Your voice matters, and your resilience will shine through. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell him? First and foremost, I would tell my future self to embrace life's journey with open arms and a fearless spirit. Life is full of ups and downs, twists and turns, but each experience molds us into who we are meant to become. I would remind myself to cherish the present moment, as it is the only time we truly have. I would encourage my future self to follow their passions and dreams un apologetically, for it is in pursuing our true calling that we find fulfillment and purpose. And amidst the challenges that undoubtedly lie ahead, I urge my future self to stay resilient, to never give up in the face of adversity, and to keep pushing forward, knowing that every setback is an opportunity for growth. Ultimately, I would remind my future self to be kind and compassionate towards others and themselves, for self-love is the foundation upon which a meaningful and joyful life is built. In addition, I would share with my future self the importance of nurturing relationships and fostering meaningful connections. People come into our lives for a reason, and it is through these connections that we learn and grow. I would remind my future self to prioritize quality time with loved ones, to be present in their lives, and to celebrate the beautiful moments shared. It's easy to get caught up in life's hustle and bustle, but the relationships genuinely matter in the end. I would encourage my future self to be a source of support and love for others, to listen deeply, and to offer a helping hand whenever possible. And as life unfolds, I would remind my future self to hold on to the values and principles that guide me, to stay true to who I am, and to make choices that align with my authentic self. By staying grounded and true to myself, I can navigate the future with grace and integrity, positively impacting the world around me.

What are five things that you can't live without? The five things I can’t live without are, first, my instruments because when I am without them, I feel empty. Second, my brother, because, he’s my best friend for life and we spend so much time with each other. Third, is my phone. I’m sure most teenagers like me feel that way because it’s essential for communication and entertainment! Forth, my cat, Lillie. She once ran away for a few hours and I was devastated without her. And lastly, the fifth thing I cannot live without is creativity. Being creative fills my entire life and makes me whole. If I didn’t have the ability to be creative, I’d be a completely lost. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? My life’s motto that I live by is the quote, Be the change you wish to see in the world.-GhandiI love this quote because it explains how all of us should set an example to change the world in the right ways to make it a better place! If a person wants something to be different, they should be the one to make it happen by example! What's your favorite color? I have two favorite colors, red, and black. I learned through being in hair school, that red is the largest spectrum of all colors! I have a guitar with both of these colors on it and I love it. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie of all time is Grease. It’s a classic and I’ve watched it hundreds of times. My favorite song in the movie is hopelessly devoted by Olivia Newton-John. It’s a very special movie to me because I would always watch it with my mom when I was young. It is both of our favorite movie. When I watch it now it is very nostalgic because it reminds me of when I was little. My brother and I acted out the last scene of the movie when we were younger. We put on costumes and everything, and my dad videotaped us singing and dancing the choreography. We watch it now and laugh so hard! It’s my all-time favorite movie and I will watch it many more times in my life. What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is, The Walking Dead. I’m contemplating watching it all the way through again. It’s such a cool story because the characters are set in an apocalypse, and no matter the terrible things that happen to them, they rise above it. Even though the show is dark and sometimes depressing, it sends a very good message to never give up, despite the circumstances! Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I do have pets! I have three dogs, which are all Australian shepherds, named, Willie, Billie, and Whilla. My fourth pet is my tabby cat, Lillie. They are all super cute and I love them to death. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? My favorite place I’ve traveled to is New York City. I have been a few times, and all of those times were incredible. The city there is so captivating and I love how alive and animated it is. It has the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. New York life has always intrigued me, I have always wanted to live there. What is your favorite food? My favorite food is probably pizza because my favorite kind of food is Italian food. I’m a foodie. I express love through food, the same with my family. If I could have dinner with anyone in the world, it would most definitely be Lady Gaga. I think she and her talent are breathtaking. Her fashion sense is the coolest and I look up to her so much because of how amazing of a singer she is. I’ve been listening to her music since I was very young and I’ve been singing along to her songs my whole life! Not only is she my idol, she is also my role model. I really respect how she always tries to be real and stands up for those that need it. I would love to sit down and talk with her for a while a nd hear what incredible knowledge she would share. What made you want to start acting? What made me want to start acting was the inspiration I got from my younger brother, Luke. When we were young, we always had a gift of performance, and our parents saw our abilities early on. My brother got into acting at about five-years-old and shortly after his start in his career, we decided to move from Florida to Los Angeles. I fell in love with the city and its beauty. I watched my brother get busy with auditions and booking acting jobs and I saw how much fun he was having and how cool the industry was, so I decided to become an actor too! Acting has always been and always will be a bonding experience for my brother and I. I couldn’t imagine being in the industry without his constant support and partnership. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? The most difficult thing about being an actor is rejection. When you are an actor you have to prepare yourself for the no’s. It can be challenging to deal with not getting a part that you really want. But, what I’ve learned over the years is that not being right for a role doesn’t make you less of an actor. There are a lot of actors out there who take it personally and it starts to chip away at their self-confidence. They start to think, “Am I not good enough?” Well, the truth is, every actor is good enough and deserves the role they are meant for. So if there are any of you that are acting, or want to peruse it, don’t beat yourself up because you didn’t get the role, instead, smile and know your value because your role will come to you eventually. Keep training and working hard and your time will come! How do you prepare for auditions? When I get an audition, the first thing I do is confirm it to let my agent and managers know I’d like to do the audition. I then print it out and I start to read it. This is a really fun part of the process for me. The first read. I always get super excited to see what the character is like and how I can be creative and put myself into the situation of the character. Then, after I read for a while, I start to make choices. I always ask myself, “How can I make the scene unique but, also believable?” Then, I practice the scene, making sure to take breaks and play my bass or draw a bit, so I don’t get in my head. Then, after more preparation, the next thing I know, it’s the next day and it’s already time to film my audition. My mom usually helps me with my hair, and I do most of my makeup. I always set up lights and use a ring light to hold my phone so I can record my audition. Then, moments before I start my audition, I always say, “Let’s do this,” in my head. It gets my mind into a good place so I can nail it! You have had many wonderful roles. What has been the one role that you relate to the most? The role I relate to the most was my character, Grace, in a western I did called A Soldier’s Revenge. I relate to this character the most because she was a confident, yet, sensitive young girl, with a kind heart. She also had a younger brother in the film (who was played by my brother, Luke), and she loved him very much, and brought him along and protected him on their journey throughout the film, which is what I have done my whole life! In this movie, I got to ride a few horses, which was very fun for me because I’ve taken horse riding lessons since I was eleven. Just like my character Grace, I love horses! They are such beautiful gentle creatures. Having animals on set makes the experience even more special. This role was so fun to play and I hope I have another role like her someday because I really enjoy filming with my brother and working with the horses. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? If I could write the perfect role for myself I would have a part in a movie or show about the music industry. I would love to go on set every day and share my passion for music with the world through the screen. I love music and it is a huge part of who I am, so, I’d love to combine it with acting. Jack Black’s character in The School of Rock is a good example of a part I’d write for myself. It looks like he had a blast doing that film, singing and playing instruments. I’d love to do the same. Another good example is the show Nashville, which was about many people in the country music industry and it went into depth about their lives and had so many performances in the show. Having a role like this would be a dream! In addition to acting, you are also in a band with your brother, Luke. Tell us how is it playing music with your brother? What do you hope people take away from your music? What has been your favorite gig to date and why? Playing music with my brother in our band Duplexity is the most fun and exciting experience I’ve ever had! We both are so excited and have been working so hard on our music. He is such a wonderful partner for music because he knows me so well, we have spent our whole lives together. Writing music with him is like writing music with myself, but better because we can bounce ideas off each other. We are so in tune with each other and both of our ideas and talents together make masterpieces. I couldn’t ask for a better person to be in a duo with! I hope that everyone loves our music as much as we do and that it will inspire and affect them in a positive way. Music is magic because it has the ability to influence people in amazing ways. I want our music to make people want to embrace who they are and be proud of themselves. I also hope it raises people’s confidence too. My favorite gig to date was my first gig, which was at the Mint when I was 12. It is so special to me because at this specific performance during the first song I sang, I realized that music was my passion and that I wanted to do it for the rest of my life. Ever since that day, my life changed and I had a new sense of confidence knowing what I wanted to do! Starting Duplexity is my dream come true! In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I am very passionate about helping people. I do not have a lot of time to volunteer but I have sang in a nursing home when I was younger to help bring smiles to the residents that lived there during the holiday season. I would love to do more things like this. The charity we as a family like to support is St Jude’s because helping sick kids is special to us. I was born with a heart condition and my brother was sick from birth until about 5-6-years-old. He really only got better when we moved to LA for acting. He was always very ill due to his asthma and always missed so much school. Moving to LA was a blessing, his asthma cleared up so much that he barely needed to be on meds. Watching him and my parents suffer all these years when he was so sick is the reason I will always choose St Jude’s as my charity. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? My favorite actor is the one and only Bryan Cranston. I didn’t know who he was until I watched Breaking Bad. Which I totally recommend by the way, it’s phenomenal. When I saw his acting for the first time about two years ago, I was blown away. He has the ability to fully become the character and because of this, his work is so believable. Bryan’s character in Breaking Bad, Walter White, has lung cancer and he has this cough that sounds so painful and raw like he’s dying slowly. It’s crazy to think that Bryan was just coughing on cue because that's what his character would have done, it sounded so real. That’s just one example of his talent. I will always look up to him and his work will always be a big influence on me. How would you describe your fashion style? I would describe my fashion style to be alternative chic. When it comes to hair and makeup, I like to look glamorous. I love to wear my hair with a lot of volume and with glam curls in it. I usually match my makeup to my hair, which is usually always modern looking. However, when it comes to how I dress, I like to be on the funky side. I love the alternative dress style and I get more and more excited about fashion the older I get. I like to wear things that pop, and I love to wear unique jewelry. The juxtaposition of glamour and grunge is a look that I’m obsessed with at the moment. I really like my style and I can’t wait to keep experimenting! Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? My favorite actor I’ve worked with so far is Nicole Kidman. I was in a movie called Bombshell where I played Nicole’s daughter. I will never forget how incredible of a performance she gavein that movie. When I was on set waiting to walk into the scene, she performed a scene where she was deeply distraught and upset. She was crying in the scene and I remember how powerful it was. Every take was literally an Oscar-winning performance and it was so inspiring to see her focus and commitment to every scene, every take. I learned so much watching her and I’m so honored to have had the opportunity to work with her. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? The advice I would give to other kids that want to break into the industry is to be yourself! I’ve struggled with identity before, many years ago. I thought that I should be what people wanted to see, the person that is flawless and absolutely perfect. But, the truth is that when you try to be perfection…it’s uninteresting and fake. What the entertainment industry wants to see is the raw, unfiltered, you. If you are trying to be someone else, then you will never reach the potential you have because you are putting all of your effort into being someone that isn’t you. I understand how much us performers care about how we present ourselves, but the true secret is to always be who you truly are. The best power you have is your unique self. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? My dream on-screen collaboration is Charlize Theron. I really look up to her because she always plays a strong woman in every role. She is so brave and courageous and it’s amazing how many doors she has opened for women in the industry. I think she is so empowering and it’s like there is a light that follows wherever she goes. I also admire the career she built for herself, being one of the most influential and in-demand actresses’ in history. Not only has she succeeded in her acting career, but she’s also produced and created many films. I find her strength to be inspiring and I aim to have a career like hers one day. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? One thing nobody knows about me is that I am an artist. I have been developing a comic series since 2020 about mythical creature mythology, which I’ve always been so interested in. In my comic there are vampires, werewolves, hunters, sirens and more. But, it’s mostly filled with vampires. I started making the series about three years ago because I was inspired by the anime I watched and also by vampire mythology. I’ve watched many shows and movies based on vampires because they are so intriguing to me. Since then, I’ve created 20+ characters and built a full storyline for my comic. I’ve grown to really enjoy drawing all the characters I made. Creating the world for them to live in has been so rewarding. I’m excited to one day make it into a fully finished series, but, for now, I just enjoy the development process. Have you ever been bullied? I have never been bullied before in my life, but, I do know that sometimes people can be unsupportive of your goals and dreams. There will be people who don’t wish you success or don’t think kind things of you. I believe that being kind and understanding to everyone is the best way to live life. Always be kind, because everyone you meet is fighting a battle that you know nothing about. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? My advice to kids that are suffering from bullying is to first, tell an adult or someone close to you. Never keep bullying a secret from anyone if it is happening to you, because without help from other people, it will only get worse and possibly more dangerous. I also advise to never take a bully's bait. If a bully is trying to be aggressive with you, whether it is mentally or physically, be the bigger person and walk away. Walking away from a bad situation is not cowardly, but actually, more courageous than anything. Bullying is a terrible thing, and I hope whoever is going through it finds a way out of it. Like I said earlier, I believe in kindness, it saddens me when people spread hate versus spreading love. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? If I could talk to my future self, there would definitely be a lot of happy tears involved. In the future, I plan on being a well-known musician. Not only that but I plan to win Oscars and Grammys and Golden Globes. I would tell myself that I am proud of the journey I have made. I would also ask my older self to tell me the story about how it all happened. I’m so lucky to have had the experiences and opportunities that I’ve had so far, and I can’t wait for what comes next in the future!

Misty Dawn--yes, that is her real name--is self aware enough to be able to laugh about the fact that her parents gave her a name that would lead you to believe she’s a 1970s adult film star, not a country singer. With a theatrical attitude to match, the Texas native has embraced her name by adding a little bit of flare to her style of country music. She calls her brand of country “Show Country,”-- a callback to her Texas roots while also honoring her theatrical side. Misty has been performing in professional theatre and television productions since the wise old age of six-years-old, and her theatrical resume includes a musical theatre degree, off-Broadway productions and international theatre touring companies (to name a few), and you can hear these influences interwoven with the sounds of the classic country era. While her sound harkens back to a classic country era and she looks to join the ranks of the Ameripolitan crowd, her message is anything but traditional. Misty takes a no-nonsense approach to re-writing the topics women typically sing about with songs about traditional female roles, poking at the holes in religious and political establishments, and embracing a brazen, sexually empowered version of a woman. Action Magazine had to know more! We had the amazing opportunity to catch up with this young rising star for a look into her world, and we are so glad that we did! Check out what she had to say and add her to your Instagram list of those who you are following!
What are five things that you can't live without? My family, my dogs, Iced coffee, Sea-salt and caramel chocolate, music What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Always leave a place better than you found it. What's your favorite color? It oscillates between green and orange but I’m in a green phase right now. What is your favorite movie? What’s Up Doc with Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’Neil. It’s so zany and over-the-top and I love it. It has it all, mistaken identities, romance, comedy, drama, and of course, music. What is your favorite TV show? Severance on Apple TV. Holy crap that show is so amazing and under the radar. I can’t wait for season two. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? My pets should have their own anime series. I’m convinced they would be famous. I have a Shiba Inu named Iroh (brownie points if you get the reference) and a Malti-Poo named Astra. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Oof, that’s a tough one. I used to be a travel writer and there are many places that hold a special place in my heart. I absolutely loved Japan and I would put there and Israel at the top of my list. What is your favorite food? Anything Tex-Mex. I’m from Texas, so I’m obligated to say that. ;) What made you want to start singing? My dad! He had the voice of an angel and for as long as I can remember, we were singing together. What is the most difficult thing about being a musician? Trusting your own voice and intuition, while still taking advice from others. It’s a balance between learning from the pros and carving your own way. Sometimes you gotta risk it and go with your gut. Where do you find inspiration for your music? This album is heavily inspired by the six years I spent in Tucson, Arizona. It's a place with a harsh beauty but one that teaches you about resilience. My time there taught me about transformation and living in harmony with self and this album is a reflection of that. Tarantula tells the tale of Lady Arachnid, whose inner power is awakened when she realizes SHE is the one true love of her life. When societal pressures and internal ideas of how Lady Arachnid thought life would turn out start to unravel, she must spin a new tale and seize the opportunity to create a new perspective for herself. What do you hope people take away from your music? That women of all ages and stages of life have rich perspectives and stories to tell. You have a new project, “Cactus Motel,” tell us about this project? There’s a strip in Tucson, Arizona called Miracle Mile, that was once a significant commercial corridor for automobile tourism in the Route 66 era. During the 1940-60s business was booming; neon signs dotted the skyline and even Georgia O’Keefe left an imprint on the city with her rendering of a white cow skull on a black background at the Ghost Ranch Lodge. By 1987, the name “MiracleMile” had become increasingly associated with unsavory activity and the once glorious strip started to take on a new persona. Motels with hourly rates, a bar called the Meat Rack run by Jim ''God'' Anderson, and run-down and sun-rusted buildings become the new norm. The siren glow of neon calls to many and it’s where our journey begins for Lady Arachnid and her Tarantula transformation. Cactus Motel was inspired by the cinematic nature of Miracle Mile. It always struck me as a storied place and one where many tantalizing tales began. While I've never had an under-the-table affair, personally, I understand the intoxicating draw of a "situationship." I understand centering yourself and your needs around someone who is no good for you. I wanted to set the stage for Lady Arachnid to move from an entanglement with a bad actor to choosing herself by the end of the album and the Cactus Motel is where it all begins. In one word, how would you describe your sound? Cinematic Who is your favorite musician and why? I love Adele. Her music has been such a formative part of my life and even though she’s not a country artist, I think she is just such a powerhouse. How would you describe your fashion style? Quirky western. Who would be your dream music collaboration and why? I would love to do a collab with Elle King. I just love her vibe and the way she’s able to move through different genres in the country space. She also is so unapologetically her and it’s so inspiring to watch. Have you ever been bullied? A little when I was in middle school but I went to a small school so we were all friends and mostly on an even playing field. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Try to remember that people who say and do hurtful things don’t have the same internal compass that you do. They are unmoored. They are probably hurting in their own way and for whatever reason, you may trigger something in them that they need to face in their own life. It’s almost never about you but about them and the demons they are facing. If you could talk to your past self, what would you tell her? You are going to be stronger than you can imagine. Have more adventures than you can imagine. And live a really fun, creative life. Don’t let anyone make you feel like your dreams and ideas are too big.

I’ve always been drawn to the camera and I love how beautiful acting can be. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? For me, I would say getting into a really dark character, to really understand them and get into their headspace. It definitely affects you. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? If I could write a role for myself I would make it a mix of my favorite movie genres. I would make it an Asian American RomCom action movie. You are also an athlete/martial artist. Tell us how you got started doing martial arts. My family is in the stunt industry and my uncle first showed me martial arts a couple years ago and I’ve stuck with it. What is the one martial art that you haven’t tried but would love to master? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I love cats and one of my favorite charity’s to support is Stray Cat Alliance. They take kitties off the street and give them the care that they need and find homes for them, it’s really a great charity. I think all cats should have a loving home. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Trying to choose one is really hard but I’d have to go with Jennifer Lawrence. How would you describe your fashion style? I would say my fashion style is pretty girly and glamorous. Who are some of your favorite actors/martial artists that you have worked with? In Vegas, I had the honor of doing a scene with 50 Cent for Boneyard. That was definitely one of the coolest. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? Whatever you do make sure to stay consistent and opportunities will come to you. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? Michelle Yeoh, she’s paved the way for Asian actors and to collaborate with her would be a dream come true. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? My favorite flower are lilies. Have you ever been bullied? I don’t like the word bullied, but have I had mean things said to me, yes. Have I been singled out before, yes. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? People’s words only have as much meaning as you give them, don’t give your bullies power to hurt you. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? I would ask her what advice she would give me, her younger self.

What are five things that you can't live without? Five things that I just can’t live without would probably be my family and friends, my multiple passions, serving others through spreading God’s love, and my education. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? My life’s motto is the iconic “Golden Rule” to treat others how you want to be treated. I treat others with kindness and open arms because it’s nice to make others feel comfortable in your presence, and I am a firm believer that the positive energy that you give and invest into others will reflect back in your character and present itself in different ways throughout your life. Although it’s exciting to receive kindness back, you can’t always expect to be treated the same way that you treat others but overall that’s the joy of the Golden Rule, you treat others with unconditional kindness with no expectations of them doing it back because you made the choice in your heart that this is what you want to do as a person regardless of the reciprocation. What's your favorite color? My favorite color is definitely green! It’s so pretty and I love all shades because it really gives off an earthy tone. You can basically see green anywhere if you go outside it’s so prominent in nature! I guess that’s why I love the color so much! What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie of all time is the DreamWorks animation's Shark Tale. It’s so good I can watch that movie over a BILLION times and not get bored at all. A big plus is the amazing soundtrack for the movie, it always has me dancing! What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is Netflix’s Original Series Outer Banks because I love the summer vibe and the friendship that the pogues share together. It’s such an adventurous teen show that just entices me to really live out that teen summer beach dream. Just living on the coast of North Carolina, and going to the beach every day like there’s no tomorrow! Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? Yes, I do have a pet! I have one dog, his name is Mason. He is a Pekingese and Poodle white fluffy cloud that is super comfy to cuddle with! He loves long walks on a cool evening and chasing his tail into the sunset. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? My favorite place that I have traveled to would be the island in the Caribbean St. Maarten. I actually visited there when I was on a cruise and I just fell in love with the island because of its beautiful bright clear aqua-blue waters and white sand. What is your favorite food? My favorite food is Sushi, it’s kind of an obsession at this point. Specifically, the Shrimp Tempura rolls and the California rolls are my two top favorites. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? If I could have dinner with anyone in the world it would be Zendaya because I love her personality. I started watching her act since her early Disney Channel TV Series Shake It Up and I’ve felt like I’ve grown up with her despite the separation being my TV screen. I feel like we would have so much to talk about and she would make it an exciting time. What made you want to start acting? What made me want to start acting was the spark that I felt at a really young age when I would perform for my parents and make up my own storylines to perform them. I really enjoyed the exciting depth that one could experience when trying to express emotions and character storylines. Growing up I would watch Disney Channel TV shows like Jessie, it really inspired me when I was little and as my passion for acting evolved with my age, I started performing in my school play productions, theater shows in New York City, acting workshop recitals, open call auditions, film and TV acting showcases in Hollywood, and anywhere where I could share my talent as an outlet. I just wanted to get better at my craft and I continue to love each step of the way. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? I would say the most challenging thing about being an actor is developing more than the surface of a character. As an actress, there’s always going to be a script and a backstory to the character proving the impact of the dialogue that your character has to play, but in order to really experience and display all of the deep feelings that your character has to go through you need to really take the time to annotate a deep dive into the script and peel back all the layers. It can be challenging sometimes to really get a great understanding of your character when not looking at just the first glance, but when doing this you create the best possible demonstration of your character. How do you prepare for auditions? I prepare for auditions by first, reading the directions, to make sure I understand and know exactly how to upload and arrive on time to my audition, whether it be a self-tape, or in person. I read the description of the character if it’s available at the time. Then I read over the attached sides a few times. Then I start by highlighting my lines and reviewing the script for pauses, and presentation factors like comedic timing for example outer factors that can be significant to my performance. Next, I do an inner annotation, which is more of an inner development of the script by dissecting emotions, backstories, environment, and all factors I need to grip tightly. This process is probably the longest because it does take some time to really annotate the script on a more intense level but once I have completed that process I begin to memorize the script and begin rehearsing. I try not to rehearse my lines too much because it can get extremely repetitive and I want to show the most authentic version of the character I am playing so once I have the lines down, I don’t overdo the rehearsing section. Lastly, I do some word exercises like yellow leather, and red leather, just to get my words out and ready. I slate, walk into my audition with confidence, and push forth booking vibes! The industry is full of rejection. What is your advice on how to handle it? I would say the best way to handle rejection is to not dwell on it but to keep it moving. There is going to be so much rejection in the industry and that is okay. Ultimately if you really really enjoy what you are doing your passion will keep you going and growing. Take rejection as a learning lesson that points you in the direction of the future. What is meant for you is for you! You have had many wonderful roles. What has been the one role that you relate to the most? One role that I relate to the most would be the student I played in the TV series Do Your Best I really remember feeling so concerned at the moment for the scene when I had to inform my teacher that my parents needed to talk to him. It was a turning point in the storyline of my character addressing personal intentions right away that altered a changing of character for my teacher in the series. I related to this role the most because I am always concerned about my education and my parents are too, so I would definitely see myself reaching out to my teacher when there is an issue that is impacting all of the students other than myself. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? If I could write the perfect role for myself it would be a character depicted with a biracial background like me with curly hair and tan skin who is going through the challenges of being an adolescent in Gen Z. I feel like we need more equal representation for girls who are acting in film that look like me, and actually provide more unique qualities that aren’t stereotyped about our lives. I feel like this role would be perfect for me because I am a part of Gen Z and I know that a lot of teenagers are dealing with many different things growing up, and I want to help be a good example that you can overcome all the challenges and hopefully give someone out there a person they can relate to with hope that everything is going to be alright. In addition to acting, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Another thing that I am passionate about is my charity Operation Smile. As an ambassador I support my charity by selling slimes on Etsy under my slime business Chelsea’s Slimes, you can find my slime shop on Instagram: @chelly.slimes. I also volunteer through my school’s student council as the President by helping fundraise for school events and raising money and awareness for different charities such as the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, CA to support AAPI and the Jewish Home for the Aging, through bake sales and other projects like restocking the community fridge at the local church. As a student council, we have also fundraised money for the LGBTQ+ youth by hosting a Boba Day Event that dedicated proceeds to the Trevor Project and G.L.A.A.D. I feel it's so important to give back to your community in any shape or form because it really helps make life better for so many others. I also volunteer as a Junior Staff member towards H.O.B.Y. (Hugh O’Brien Youth Program) a leadership non-profit organization empowering the youth through service projects and seminar panels to channel their own individual strengths and weaknesses as a leader. Giving back exemplifies love and it's the best thing to spread in order to heal the world, one step at a time. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? My favorite actress would be Jenna Ortega because she really takes her craft seriously and dedicates herself to every role that she plays in a way that you can just feel it in her presence on the screen and off the screen. She isn’t afraid to be her most authentic self, and with great commitment uses every single possibility to really add depth to whatever role she is playing. For example, in her Netflix Original TV series Wednesday she commits one hundred percent to her role and there is never a dull moment. She even took it upon herself to research goth dances so she could incorporate a dance routine for the show. I also have seen her work on Stuck In The Middle, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, and The Fallout. With that variety of characters came the great versatility of roles that Jenna displayed so effortlessly. Jenna is definitely an actress that inspires me in my crafts. How would you describe your fashion style? I would describe my fashion style as a mix of a little bit of everything depending on the occasion. However, I do really enjoy wearing Indie/Grunge aesthetic pieces such as graphic tees, baggy ripped jeans, and Nike airforces. I like to wear a lot of jewelry like rings on all of my fingers. I usually shop at my favorite stores Cotton-On and Garage. I also enjoy thrifting as an opportunity to really be creative with outfit inspirations. Other times I wear more summery outfits and bright colors which are still somewhat around an Indie style as I like to call it and I love to go glamour mode for big occasions by wearing elegant dresses that match the mood. Evidently, my style really depends on how I am feeling at the moment and what vibe I want to express through my clothing choices. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? Some of my favorite actors that I have worked alongside would be Paige Hurd, Juliana Harkavy, Romeo Miller, and Alex Wong. They are all such professional actors that really work hard and have such kind energies that are so easy to work with. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into acting? Advice that I would give other kids that want to break into acting is to really have persistence. Persistence is key in this industry and a lot of people can mistakenly fall short of their true potential because their persistence to keep going just isn’t there yet. You should really make sure that you are passionate about what you do because that will motivate your persistence which will in turn, open many doors for you in the future. Take acting classes continue to be persistent in achieving your goals, and take the time to better your craft every day. Who would be your dream on-screen collaboration and why? My dream on-screen collaboration would probably be acting alongside Madison Bailey from Netflix’s Outer Banks, acting with Mary Mouser and Tanner Buchanan, from Netflix’s Cobra Kai as well as working with Zendaya, Jenna Ortega, Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry, Zoe Saldana, Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey, Storm Reid, Antonia Gentry, Felix Mallard, Katie Douglas, Marsai Martin, and Millie Bobby Brown. I would want to work alongside all of these actors because they are a part of some of my favorite productions of all time, and all have individually left a great impact on me and my acting career by propelling me forward to stay inspired and work hard. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? One thing that nobody knows about me is that I am really good at origami. Not a lot of people know this but I create these origami ninja stars that require eight pieces of paper and they transform from an oval/circle shape into a full-spiraled ninja star. I also make other origami art such as origami emoji bookmarks that I have in the works as a new attribution to my business entrepreneur side! Have you ever been bullied? Yes, I have, it’s not really the best experience but I feel like personally, experiencing bullying taught me skills that made me the person I am today in a positive manner. Specifically, it motivated the idea of me not wanting anyone to ever feel the way that I felt, so I would always focus on bringing out the best in others and supporting them in all aspects of their life. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Advice that I would offer to kids that are suffering from bullying would be to tell an adult, teacher, coach/counselor, parent, caregiver, or someone that you trust about the situation. They could offer you multiple options of support to make sure that the bullying ends, I know it can be difficult to feel that you are alone when you have been bullied, but it’s completely the opposite, there are people out there that care about you and will support you to be the best version of yourself. As far as a personal tip of advice, don’t give bullies your time and energy, this just thrives them to continue to get a reaction out of you and you then enter a continuous cycle. Try your best to limit your interaction with them, but always respectfully stand up for yourself when needed, however, limiting access is the best option because you deserve to spend all of your valuable time and energy on people and things that build you up, not break you down. If you could talk to your future self, what would you tell her? Woah, that’s a really clever question. I have never thought about that before. If I could talk to my future self I would probably tell her a bunch of questions like how is the future, what projects am I working on now, how was college, and what are the different involvements I am participating in. I would also probably tell future me about what’s going on in my current life at the moment and ask her for advice to see a little preview of the future and how it’s going to eventually work out!

What are five things that you can't live without? My friends, my family, my car, music, and my air fryer What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? I have a tie for mottos. The one I’ve lived by for many years is, No excuses, do the work. This last year, however, I’ve had a new motto start to take shape, Find your why. What's your favorite color? My favorite color is, the one and only, purple. What is your favorite movie? That’s a hard question and I’m sure as soon as I send in this interview I’ll think of 5 other movies that I absolutely adore. That being said, the movie that immediately popped into my head is Remember The Titans. I love movies that inspire me, fill my heart with love and have a great soundtrack. What is your favorite TV show? I’m going to pick two for my favorite show. 1. BBC’s Sherlock 2. Doctor Who (specifically the seasons with the 10th and 11th doctors) Both of these shows showcase phenomenal writing and acting. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? My favorite place I’ve traveled to has to be Kauai Hawaii. I’m a huge fan of nature and I strongly believe in her healing powers. Each time I’ve traveled to Kauai I left with an empowered and glowing heart. What is your favorite food? The food that I love to cook for myself and my friends is my famous buffalo cauliflower. What made you want to start acting? The way I got introduced to acting is a bit comical. My older brother joey started auditioning in the TV & film industry before me. I would tag along with him to his auditions, and I got asked to audition enough times that my mom thought I better get an agent too! I was so shy that auditioning and performing were terrifying to me. However, after years of pushing myself to jump outside my comfort zone I strengthened my social skills and confidence. I’m so glad I stuck with it because I have found such a pure, deep passion for this craft. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? I had to learn the hard way that you NEED to take care of yourself as an actor. When you’re acting, your body doesn't know you’re acting. If you’re acting in a scene where you're crying in pain from a traumatic event, your body will think that you’re actually experiencing that. If you don’t take care of yourself the emotions from the character you're playing can seep into your personal life. I have a list of things that I will implement into my personal life (like meditation, physical exercise, journaling, or even jamming to music in my car after a long day on set) to help me release emotions that build up while acting. The industry is full of rejection. What is your advice on how to handle it? In life there are many forms of rejection you will experience. In the acting industry it’s like a concentrated form of a lot of rejection, so you have to find ways to overcome it in order to survive. It will always hurt a little when that role you worked so hard for goes to someone else, but the sooner you can change your perception the quicker you can thrive. Rejection can feel personal, but all it comes down to is that that role simply wasn’t meant for you. Even though you didn’t get the role, the time and experience you got to live in that character will always leave you with more than you started. You keep your head up, continue to grow your craft, and know the role that IS meant for you is already on its way. You have had many wonderful roles. What has been the one role that you relate to the most? The role of Caleche in the series Beachwood Charter was such a staple role for me in many ways. The character was a young girl finding herself, and I was doing just that in my own life. I was able to connect and grow with the character. The director of the series, Harrison James, is also my favorite director I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. That role showed me how acting is a wonderful outlet to learn and explore the ways of emotions and the human experience. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? Oh, man! I’ve got this one ready to go. I would write the role of a female mechanic who races cars and motorcycles. She is also a certified badass, kicking ass to protect her friends and family. I want to be in a role that empowers young females. In addition to acting, what other things are you passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Yes, I do indeed have some other passions I pour into! Cars are one! I love racing them, building them and fixing them. I work on all my friends' cars and help teach them about how they function. I’m all about people being empowered with knowledge! I also have a natural candle small business that I’m growing! Your sense of smell is your strongest sensory superpower, and I love how I can help people activate those warm, loving feelings from one of my candles. On top of that I’m fortunate enough to work with a non-profit, getting to work in the field with middle and high school students. So, yes, I definitely have a full cup of love in my life. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Benedict Cumberbatch! I respect and admire his acting work so much and would love to get the chance to talk to him about his creative process. How would you describe your fashion style? My fashion style goes a lot with my mood, but it’s rooted in streetwear. I love clothes that I feel comfortable in, and a lot of times I need clothes that I can work under a car in. Streetwear fits my vibe. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into acting? For anyone breaking into the industry I would say to get into some acting classes. Acting classes are great for newcomers, as well as seasoned actors & actresses, to keep your skills sharp. Acting in student films are a great way to get experience and build a reel. Some schools I used to work with were American Film Institute (AFI), UCLA, and New York Film Academy. Having a reel is a great thing to help you get auditions as well as an agent and manager. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I’ll give you two things! 1. Lilies will always make me smile and bring love to no matter how sour a day. 2. Freshly cut grass is one of my favorite smells. Reminds me of my childhood and all the outside adventures I’d partake in.
