Ticket & Seating INFORMATION
WELCOME TO THE Stage
All friends & family are welcome to our events! All seating at all our events are rush seating. Accessible seating: If you require wheelchair accessibility, kindly notify us as soon as possible beforehand so we can ensure seating is available. (this must be done prior to the event). Performers of any age and adult audience members do pay a fee which helps us cover the cost for the venue and equipment rentals. Audience members under 18 years old are always free. For each event, ticket prices are indicated on the sign-up form when you enroll and are outlined below. Ticket Sales - Purchasing Tickets There are no physical tickets issued. You can pre-purchase your tickets when you register online. We will have a list of the tickets you pre-purchased at the door of the venue on the day of the event. This means you won't need to worry about keeping track of physical tickets! Extra adult tickets can be bought in advance through admin, (charged to your account the same day), or at the event. Please note, ALL pre-paid tickets are non-refundable. TICKETS AT THE DOOR At the door we accept Debit, Visa, Visa Debit and MasterCard.
Groove Academy – School of Music is a performance based music school. We believe in creating a platform in which we provide as many performance opportunities for students as possible, so students an express themselves and share their talents with others. Emails with links to recital registration are sent out and and students can register for recitals online.

FREQUENTLY aSKED QUESTIONS
DRESS CODE While our events typically adhere to a semi-formal dress code, it's worth noting that the majority of our students tend to opt for formal attire when attending our Christmas recital. ARRIVAL TIME Students and parents should plan to arrive half an hour before the show begins. WHAT TO BRING Music/sheet music Drumsticks for drummers Guitar, guitar cord, picks if needed. )Guitar amps and foot stools will be provided). Violin, bow, rosin Ensure your guitar or violin is tuned before the show starts, or have your instructor tune it for you half-hour before the show starts. There will be a room and or space available to do so.
How long are the shows? All events are no longer than an hour and a half. Will there be intermission? No intermissions are scheduled except where noted under "Events" on our website. Most performances are booked without intermission as they are no more than an hour and a half long. Can we leave after my child’s performance is done? As we want to ensure the last performer has the same audience and attention as the first performer we ask that everyone stay for the entire event. How do I tune my instrument the day of the event? (violin, guitar, ukulele, woodwinds, brass) Tune at home with a tuner the day of the event. Once you arrive (be sure to show up early) you can check tune with your instructor at the event. Do I need to submit my audio track? No! All tracks are submitted to us by your instructor. Will there be microphones at the event? Yes! We have a full PA system with mics and stands. What type of drumset will be at the event? For the smaller shows, an acoustic kit will be provided. For our bigger shows, in December and June, there are usually 2 kits are provided, (an acoustic and electric kit). Please check with us to confirm, or ask your drum instructor closer to the event.

Can my teacher be on stage with me? Yes! If you feel more comfortable having your teacher on stage with you, please let us know far in advance or let your instructor know. How do I know when I perform? A performance schedule will be handed out the day of the event listing the order of performers. Instructors will check this schedule prior to the event, once it is printed, to give the students a heads up in class if it is available. An emcee will call each performer up as scheduled. Can I request to go on earlier or later in the show? We plan each performance to showcase students in levels from beginner to advanced. We cannot move an advanced student earlier. Can we film the event? Yes! You can absolutely film your own performance, but please refrain from recording anyone else's performance. Will there be a recording of the event? No recording of the event will be made. My child doesn’t wish to perform at this time but wants to come and watch the recital to see what it is like, is this allowed? Yes, tickets can be purchased at the door. Can I invite my friends to the show? Yes! All family and friends are welcome. Can we buy extra tickets at the door? Yes! We accept Debit, Visa Visa Debit and MasterCard. Are there refunds if we can't attend? Before registering for the recital, ensure you are absolutely certain of your attendance.In consideration of the event's unique nature and the limited spots available, please note that prepaid tickets are non-refundable and non-creditable.

We aim to notify all students and parents of upcoming events in the studio with posters, by email and we post all events on our website at www.grooveacademy.ca for the year. On the website you can find all events under the "Events" tab. Please be attentive to our emails. Be aware that some might be directed to your spam or junk folder, if you haven’t added our email info@grooveacademy.ca to your list of safe senders. Event posters will be displayed in our studio or ask your instructors or admin when the next event will be happening. We strive to offer all students performance opportunities throughout the year to showcase their talents and skills to a receptive and adoring audience!
