“Working in the Intimate Zone” This session will be for people looking to learn and develop best practices for the performing and directing of scenes with intimate content, ensuring actor vulnerability is respected and due preparation and care given. "Telling the Story in Song” This workshop explores the art of capturing and holding an audience through musical theatre performance. Through personalised direction, participants will learn to develop their inner monologue to deepen storytelling and emotional connection to create engaging, emotionally coherent, and powerful performances. Since training at Auckland’s influential Theatre Corporate, Jennifer has worked extensively as an actor, director and teacher in theatre, film, television, musical and radio for over 40 years. She is also a fully accredited intimacy coordinator for stage and screen. Jennifer was a founding board member of the Watershed Theatre and a co-founder of The Actors' Program. She is President of Equity New Zealand (since 2007), Patron of Q Theatre, Theatre New Zealand, Howick Little Theatre and serves as a trust board member for The Actors Benevolent Fund. In the 2007 New Year's Honours List, she was named an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to theatre and the community. Last year she was named SPADA Industry Champion and in the 2019 New Year's Honours list she was named a CNZM for services to theatre, film and television and a Women of Influence in the Arts and Culture Category.
