September 2023
Rebecca Grizzle President CEO
AAs we get ready to let go of our beautiful summer, September marks the beginning of a few things here at the chamber. First, we kick off the month with a new class of Cascade Gateway Leadership. This year’s roster is packed with local talent from businesses of all kinds. And from what I’ve seen so far, last year’s class is putting together one of our finest agendas yet. We are starting our new season of Business After Hours with a BANG! More accurately, with a “Choo! Choo!” as we board theSantiam Excursion Train. Nancy and her crew will be docking at the Train Depot on the corner of 3rdand Sherman, where we can hop on and off at our leisure, partake in some appetizers and a no-host bar, and explore this local treasure of a train. Then we are bringing a new event on board with our Chamber Double Dip Golf Tournament. This will be a small, exclusive event with only 18 teams of 2, 9 holes, limited sponsorships, and a ton of fun on the agenda.Santiam Excursion Trainis hosting the bloody mary bar to kick the day off, andWillamette Manoris running a Designated Driver bus afterwards in case you had all the drinks. Each sponsor is in a competition to make the best dip to be enjoyed in the clubhouse afterwards, and the players will decide who gets to go home with the Dip Trophy and a free sponsorship for the 2024 tournament. Finally, we are bringing our luncheons back to the hospital with a great presentation this month. We will take a 10,000 foot level view of the propane industry, the climate and health impacts, the environment, and the difference access to propane makes in the energy sector. Sign up on our web site atwww.lebanon-chamber.org. There’s something to be said for the fall season and the coming back together after a summer of fun. It’s time to reconnect, and we’re your connection specialists!
