CELEBRATING LA MANGA CLUB RESORT'S 50th ANNIVERSARY IN PHOTOGRAPHS
28th October 2022 50th Anniversary Street Party
Paul Lawrie - Winner
Over the years much has been written and said about the history of La Manga Club. How the resort came about; its beautiful location; the movers and shakers who were key to its expansion over the years; the importance of golf, its signature sport; its luxurious 5-star hotel; extensive leisure facilities; La Quinta Club; many bars, restaurants; its residential property owners and, of course, its many visitors from around the world, The Club has seen its share of changes, dramas and good times; as well as several different owners. Yet, despite all these challenges, unlike many of its competitors, the Club has survived, bounced back and prospered, Why you may ask? The answer is simple, because of its people, be they property owners, businesses, workers or contractors.. Without their love of the resort, commitment and hard work, La Manga Club would not be the success story it is today.. This year the resort celebrates its 50th Anniversary, but rather than yet more words, there have already been many thousands written, this supplement celebrates La Manga Club's people, places and memories. My thanks go to all the people who have contributed photographs; including Bridgette Field, Martyn Stretch, Carol Jillins, Maria Long, La Manga Club S.L. Emma Stodel and many others. My sincere apologies if I have missed anyone out, it was not intentional. Lastly, to the best of my knowledge copyright of the photographs remains vested with their respective contributors. By the way, the supplement can only be viewed online. It is a 'not for profit' publication and free to all.. Moreover, I have put it together in my spare time. So, if anyone spots the odd mistake or literal, please be tolerant and do not complain! Enjoy, Peter Morrow
