Location: This year our Christmas recital location will be at the "Rachel Browne Theater" located at 211 Bannatyne. Students can choose one showtime or if you wish, you can choose to perform at both! Please arrive at the venue 15-20 min. before showtime. Dress Code: Our dress code for this event is semi-formal. Attendees: Everyone is welcome to our event. Tickets can be purchased beforehand online or at the door on show day. Please note: There are no physical tickets, so all online ticket purchases will be billed/tracked on your account. Payments Accepted at the Door: Payment methods accepted will be Debit, Visa or MasterCard. Parking: Please plan for parking before the show date! There is parking on the street and parkades are located nearby. Please plan and arrive early!

How to: Practice Your Best
Playing your best means practicing your best. Here are 5 tips to get more from your practice time. 1. Set a schedule We all know life can be unpredictable. Having a scheduled time to practice can help organize your daily and weekly routine. Make time for a few practice sessions a week at times that work for you. Perhaps one day a morning session works, and another an evening time suits you better. Keeping your routine flexible will help you look forward to practicing when the time comes. Set timers or alarms to remind you. 2. Set up your space Make space for your practice. Indoors or out having a place where you can focus and work on exercises is a must. While it can be challenging to find a private and quiet space, it can be beneficial in order to feel relaxed and focused. You can change up the practice space for some renewed inspiration. Be sure to keep important items such as a tuner for the instrument, music stand, metronome, etc., in reach in this space as well. 3. Remove What Distracts You Mobile devices, TV, friends, games, hunger etc. can take us out of the moment and kill our focus. The big distractions in your life can take away valuable time honing your skills. Place a note on the door to prevent interruptions, turn off the phone and set clear boundaries with anyone else in the house to not bother you during practice time. 4. Keep your instrument ready Seeing your instrument and making it easy to access can greatly increase the desire to play, rather than having to pack it away after each session. Find a place of pride in your room and display it. You never know when inspiration will strike so better be ready to rock when it does! 5. Remember to Rest Rest is an important part of practice. It gives us time to reflect on what we did well and what we might have to focus on in the next practice session. Hard work and dedication are great, but taking time to pause and reflect is just as important. Burnout exists and over practicing can lead to a loss of enjoyment and enthusiasm that we used to get from our music. We hope these tips can help you to set up the best practice routine to excel in your music journey!
