Introit
Lord Jesus Christ, be present now; our hearts in true devotion bow. Your Spirit send with grace divine, and let your truth within us shine. (Words: 17th cent., tr. Catherine Winkworth; Tune: Herr Jesu Christ, dich zu uns wend, 17th c. German)
*Call to Worship
All are invited to read the bold-faced type; the reader will read the unbolded type. Let us worship the God of all generations! We give thanks for the faithful who have gone before and for those yet to come. We come, inspired by the witness and devotion of those who put their whole trust in God. The foundation has been laid for us; now we are called to build upon it. Come to listen, to learn, to live into the legacy we have been given. We come, committing ourselves to worship and to work with love and courage.

Litany
For the saints who showed us the way of faith, We remember them and give you thanks. For the saints who nurtured us in love and grace, We remember them and give you thanks. For the saints who stood for justice and truth, We remember them and give you thanks. For the saints who comforted us in times of sorrow, We remember them and give you thanks. For the saints who inspired us with their courage and conviction, We remember them and give you thanks. For the saints whose lives reflected God’s light, We remember them and give you thanks. For the saints who have gone before us, leaving us a legacy of faith, We remember them and give you thanks. As we continue the good work they began, We remember them and give you thanks. And as we await the day when we will be reunited with them in God’s eternity, We remember them. As long as we live, they too shall live, for they are a part of us, as we remember them and give you thanks.

“Still I Sing Alleluia” — Kyle Pederson With Spirit before me, with Spirit behind, with Spirit below and beside me; with Spirit all around, even where affliction's found; I will sing, I will sound, "Alleluia." When darkness descends and the night never ends; when my shadows and demons surround me; when questions I spin echo answerless within; even then, even then, "Alleluia." Alleluia, still I sing "Alleluia." Open us to You 'til we sing, "Alleluia." Weave joy in our gain, bring us hope in our pain; hear our prayers that we offer to you, Lord; breathe life into death, draw us closer with each breath; that our lips may confess, "Alleluia." So praise the Father and praise the Son, praise the Spirit who moves in all through all; all creation sound the word so profound; let us sing, let us live, "Alleluia!"
Scripture Psalm 24 (Common English Bible)
The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants too. Because God is the one who established it on the seas; God set it firmly on the waters. Who can ascend the Lord’s mountain? Who can stand in the holy sanctuary? Only the one with clean hands and a pure heart; the one who hasn’t made false promises, the one who hasn’t sworn dishonestly. That kind of person receives blessings from the Lord and righteousness from the God who saves. And that’s how things are with the generation that seeks God—that seeks the face of Jacob’s God. Mighty gates: lift up your heads! Ancient doors: rise up high! So the glorious king can enter! Who is this glorious king? The Lord—strong and powerful! The Lord— powerful in battle! Mighty gates: lift up your heads! Ancient doors: rise up high! So the glorious king can enter! Who is this glorious king? The Lord of heavenly forces— the Lord is the glorious king! The Word of God for the People of God. Thanks be to God.

Generous God, we bring these gifts for your blessing. May they be a reflection of our faith in your abundant grace. Use them and use us to bring healing and hope to a world in need. “Miracles” — words and music by Sally DeFord Amid the countless blessings the Lord has given me, The light of truth and goodness, the Holy Spirit's peace, I see the many sorrows that his children must endure, So much hurt I long to heal. How can I change the world? (Refrain:) There are hands I cannot hold, hearts I cannot comfort Tears that only miracles can stay, So let me love and serve and teach those who come within my reach, For miracles begin that way. The Savior walked in Galilee, unknown in many lands, Yet touching every nation by the labors of his hands, Giving light to all the world by teaching but the few, He is my example in the work that I must do. (Refrain) I will bear the burden of my neighbor in his need, I will share my Savior's love in every kindly deed. He will magnify my efforts, and I'll understand at last That by these small and simple things are great things brought to pass. (Refrain)

In November, the library committee is hosting a Get To Know Your Library Scavenger Hunt. Stop by the library and pick up a clue form. When complete, make sure your name is on the form and place it in the library book return. Three people will be selected from all correct entries to receive a prize. The Scavenger Hunt runs through Sunday, November 24.

*Opening Hymn
Prayer of Confession
Holy One, how often have we kept our pain silent and missed your presence and your power. We have relied on ourselves and our limited vision rather than trust in you. Forgive us for holding back our cries for help, and for not believing that you can make us whole. Help us to call on you with boldness and faith, trusting that you hear us and long to heal us. In Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.
Silent Confession
Words of Assurance
Jesus hears your cries and offers healing and grace. Your faith has made you whole. In Christ, we are forgiven, restored, and set free. Thanks be to God.

Pie
Wednesdays, November 6, 13 and 20, 6 - 7 pm Wesley Hall and Zoom. When rock and roll emerged in the 1950s, ministers and other religious folk denounced it for its corrupting influence, some referring to it as the “devil’s music”. But for Asbury First member John Foster, rock era music opened the door to considering a broad array of themes about life, some quite spiritual. This series will explore some of John’s favorite rock era music with that spiritual connection. zoom.us/j/8347173468, (pwd: 200)
