*Call to Worship
All are invited to read the bold-faced type; the reader will read the unbolded type. Come, let us gather, open to embrace what God provides. We come seeking the power to stand firm in our faith and face life's challenges. Let us prepare ourselves with the spiritual armor of truth, righteousness, and peace. We gather to be equipped and empowered by the Spirit. Together, let us lift our voices in prayer and praise. We worship with hearts full of trust, knowing that God is our refuge and strength.

To hear the word
Prayer of Confession
Holy One, we confess that we have not always stood firm in our faith. We have allowed doubts and fears to weaken our resolve and have not fully relied on your strength. We have let ourselves become vulnerable to temptation. Forgive us for our lack of trust and for the times we have faltered in our commitment to you. Strengthen us with your power, that we may stand firm in righteousness, truth, and peace. In Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Silent Confession
Words of Assurance
Hear the good news: In Christ, we are forgiven and empowered. We stand strong in the Lord, filled with strength and grace. Thanks be to God.
*Gloria Hymnal #102, v. 3 alt.
All glory be to God, all praise and thanks be given; Whose Son and Spirit reign as one in highest Heaven; Our one eternal God, whom earth and heaven adore; For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

Scripture Ephesians 6:10-20 (The Message by Eugene Peterson)
And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no weekend war that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. And don’t forget to pray for me. Pray that I’ll know what to say and have the courage to say it at the right time, telling the mystery to one and all, the Message that I, imprisoned preacher that I am, am responsible for getting out. The Word of God for the People of God. Thanks be to God.
Anthem Gwen Paker and Brenda Nitsch, soloists Carl Johengen, Piano
“Day by Day and with Each Passing Moment” — Oscar Ahnfelt, arr. Craig Courtney; words by Caroline Sandall Berg, tr. A. L. Skoog, alt. Day by day and with each passing moment, strength I find to meet my trials here; Trusting the Creator’s wise bestowment, I've no cause for worry or for fear. God whose heart is kind beyond all measure gives unto each day what he deems best – Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure, mingling toil with peace and rest. Every day, O Lord, you travel with me, with a special mercy for each hour; All my cares you gladly bear and cheer me, God whose name is Counselor and Power. The protection of your child and treasure is a charge that on yourself you laid: "As your days, your strength shall be in measure"– this the pledge to me you have made. Help me then in every tribulation so to trust your promises, O Lord, That I lose not faith's sweet consolation offered me within your holy Word. Help me, Lord, when, toil and trouble meeting, e'er to take, as from a mother’s hand, One by one, the days, the moments fleeting, till I reach the promised land.
Children's Time
Children of all ages are invited to join us in this special moment.
Lord's Prayer
Our Father (or Our God), who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

“Praise Him!” — Craig Courtney; words based on Psalms 150 and 145, and the doxology by Thomas Ken Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below; Praise God above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Praise God in his sanctuary; Praise him for his mighty acts. Praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him! I will extol the Lord, my God, and I will bless his name forever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. The Lord is righteous and holy. The Lord is gracious and kind; full of compassion, slow to anger; His tender mercies are over all his works; the Lord is good to all. Praise him! Praise him! Praise God in his sanctuary; Praise him for his mighty acts. Praise him in the firmament of his power. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord! Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below; Praise God above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Praise him!

*Closing Song
"God Who Sets Us on a Journey" (Words: Joy Dine; Tune: Nettleton) God who sets us on a journey to discover, dream and grow, lead us as you led your people in the desert long ago; journey inward, journey outward, stir the spirit, stretch the mind, love for God and self and neighbor marks the way that Christ defined. End our longing for the old days, grant the vision that we lack – once we’ve started on this journey there can be no turning back; let us travel light, discarding excess baggage from our past, cherish only what’s essential, choosing treasure that will last. When we set up camp and settle to avoid love’s risk and pain, you disturb complacent comfort, pull the tent pegs up again; keep us traveling in the knowledge you are always at our side; give us courage for the journey, Christ our goal and Christ our guide.
