Prelude
“Tribute” (A Lullaby for Organ) — Craig Phillips “Air” — Gerre Hancock
Introit
I thank you, God, for open hearts, your Spirit sending, for open minds, our boundaries bending, for open arms, and love unending. (Words and music by Ashley Danyew)
*Call to Worship
All are invited to read the bold-faced type; the reader will read the unbolded type. Jesus set his face toward Jerusalem— determined to walk the path of love and sacrifice. He calls us to commitment. He calls us to bold, wholehearted following. We gather not because discipleship is easy, but because we trust the One who leads us. Let us worship with courage and purpose, for Christ walks ahead of us still.

Third Sunday after Pentecost
Prayer of Confession
Jesus, you call us to follow, but we hesitate. We cling to what is familiar, distracted by what we’ve left behind. We make excuses for delay, for half-heartedness, for fear. You invite us into a life of purpose, but we resist the urgency of your call. Forgive us, O Christ. Set our faces toward your way. Teach us to let go of what holds us back, and to step forward with trust, even when the road is hard. Amen.
Silent Confession
Words of Assurance
God does not wait for us to be perfect before calling us. God meets us as we are and walks with us still. Thanks be to God. Amen.
*Gloria Hymnal #102, v. 3 alt.
All glory be to God, all praise and thanks be given; Whose Son and Spirit reign as one in highest Heaven; Our one eternal God, whom earth and heaven adore; For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

Help Me Connect
Staffing update: Congratulations to Deb and Holly!
Are you interested in taking the next step in your faith journey, finding your place in the life of Asbury First, or are just in need of a deeper connection?
At the recent Town Hall, we shared the challenge before us: a projected $200,000+ budget gap for 2025—the result of lower-than-expected pledges, necessary property repairs, and other unavoidable factors. In response, we’ve launched the Second Mile Campaign to proactively meet this challenge and strengthen our future. Generous lead donors have already committed more than $100,000 in Second Mile gifts. Now, we’re inviting the congregation to help raise the remaining $100,000 remaining—not out of guilt, but out of hope, vision, and faith in what God can do through us. Make your Second Mile gift today and help us ensure a vibrant, sustainable future for all that Asbury First makes possible.
Celebrations and concerns
ALTAR FLOWERS The flowers on the altar are given to the glory of God and in gratitude for past and present Church members; and in celebration of the wedding of Carly Barner and James Greco. If you would like to place flowers on the altar, please contact Jeanne Ristau at (585) 223-4356, preferably two weeks ahead of requested date. Prayers and Concerns We offer our prayers and concerns for all those who are ill at home, hospitalized, or in hospice care. Our hearts and prayers are with the family of Larry Betler who died on May 30. Our hearts and prayers are with the family of Warren Webster who died on June 15. We want to be able to visit and pray with those who are in the hospital. If you know someone who is in the hospital and would like a pastoral call, or if you yourself are in the hospital or have a date for surgery, please call Rev. Kathy Thiel who will be most glad to be with you in that moment. (585) 271-1050 x106.
