Prelude
Sonatina, Op. 36, No.4 — Muzio Clementi Con Spirito; Andante con Espressione; Allegro Vivace
Introit
Blessed Jesus, at thy word we are gathered all to hear thee; let our hearts and minds be stirred now to seek and love and fear thee, by thy teachings, sweet and holy, drawn from earth to love thee solely. (Words: Tobias Clausnitzer, tr. Catherine Winkworth; Tune: Liebster Jesu, Johann Ahle)
*Call to Worship
All are invited to read the bold-faced type; the reader will read the unbolded type. Jesus crosses into unfamiliar places, He meets those the world has cast out. He speaks peace into chaos, and healing into harm. We gather, hoping for that same word of restoration. When others recoil in fear, Jesus draws near with compassion. We worship the One who calms storms, breaks chains, and sends us to tell the story.

Second Sunday after Pentecost
Prayer of Confession
Liberating God, we confess that we often fear the very transformation we seek. When your grace disrupts our comfort, we pull away. When healing costs us control, we resist. We turn from those you send us to welcome. We silence the stories that don’t fit neatly into our faith. Forgive us. Speak again your word of peace. Restore us to our right minds and right relationships, that we may go and proclaim all you have done. Amen.
Silent Confession
Words of Assurance
Christ speaks, and we are restored. He loves, and we are made whole. By the power of God's spirit and grace, we are forgiven and set free.
*Gloria Hymnal #102, v. 3 alt.
All glory be to God, all praise and thanks be given; Whose Son and Spirit reign as one in highest Heaven; Our one eternal God, whom earth and heaven adore; For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.
Scripture
Luke 8:26-39 (Common English Bible)
