Aside from these impactful programs, the organization and its foundation, the Arlington Kiwanis Foundation, provide support for the community in terms of donations and scholarships. Recognizing Educational and Developmental Needs
Children who received Education Relief Packs during the pandemic.
As the economy fluctuates and inflation creates price hikes, children are left to deal with the aftermath. It is no secret that the pandemic had an everlasting impact on the lives of families and children. To this day, members of the Arlington community are dealing with the consequences. One sector that has taken a great hit is education. Students, teachers, and families are playing catch-up. Students are recovering from lost in-person schooling, teachers are facing a teacher shortage, and families are trying to figure out how to make every dollar stretch. During the 2021–2022 school year, 62.1% of AISD students were considered at risk of dropping out of school. The educational roadblocks, lack of resources, and lack of funding are things the Kiwanis Club of Arlington aims to address. Many of the club's programs focus on education and the wellbeing of Arlington youth. Bringing Up Grades: This program encourages elementary students to engage in their coursework and bring up their grades. All students who demonstrate academic progression are recognized and celebrated. This program has had a tremendous impact on motivating students to excel in school. Teacher of the Year: Through Teacher of the Year, the club recognizes and awards hardworking teachers. This token of gratitude goes a long way toward supporting our beloved educators. Awards are in the form of monetary funds as teacher's deserve to be invested in. School Supply Squad: This program is a partnership effort between the club and Trinity United Methodist Church. The program directly provides Title I (and additional) schools with school supplies. Each month, school staff receives a delivery of school supplies that are then distributed to students most in need. Each delivery is based on a custom order made by educators, ensuring their individual class needs are met. Education Relief Packs: This program provides Arlington youth with a pack that includes school supplies, a book, STEM activities, and resources. The focus of this program is to distribute packs during the summer before students go back to school to ensure children remain academically engaged and start off the school year prepared. These programs are but a few of the club's efforts to create waves of impact. The club often partners up with the Arlington Public Library, AISD, and local colleges to further support students in their endeavors. Through KCA's programs, partnerships, scholarships, and donations, the club works to chip away at the obstacles Arlington children face.

The Kiwanis Club of Arlington is made up of members from its own community. These Arlington professionals use their talents and connections to uplift Arlington. If you were to visit one of their meetings, you are sure to find a recognizable face. From teachers to vets, the club is composed of many individuals. Each member utilizes their talents to create a strong organization ready to address the community's concerns. When it comes to outreach, volunteer opportunities, programs, and projects, there is always a Kiwanian on the task. Not only do the club's members work hard to contribute to Arlington, they also work hard to directly support Arlington youth. One way that members support the city's youth is through mentorship and sponsorship. They do this through the club's Service Leadership Programs. By supporting these programs, the club's volunteers assist students in gaining leadership skills and participating in volunteer opportunities. With their years of experience in supporting the Arlington community, the KCA members are helping shape future Arlington leaders.
